MM unable to detect iPod Touch

Postby Nicol Bolas » Sun Nov 01, 2009 9:39 pm

I have downloaded the latest MediaMonkey build (3.1.2.1282). I have the latest beta of d_iphone.dll installed and placed in my plugins directory. I have the latest version of iTunes installed.

MediaMonkey doesn't even notice I have an iPod Touch plugged in. I already have one device set up that works (a "d_usbmass1.dll" device which is actually just a network drive that I have attached from my other computer).

I should note that Windows itself exhibits no special behavior when I plug in the iPod Touch. iTunes will start up when I plug it in, but that's it: no new drive letters, nothing. The thing is, when I first plugged the iPod Touch into this computer, it thought it was some kind of camera or something, instead of an iPod Touch. This didn't happen to my other computer (which doesn't have MM and my music archive on it).

Any ideas?

So does iTunes see the Touch or not?

Same problem here. ITunes works fine with my 32GB Touch, but MM does not see it connected.

iTunes see my wifes iTouch, and Windows auto-connect asks to sync up with MM, but there is no new drive letter assigned and MM does not see it!!!

You'll need to ensure that iTunes is installed and upgrade to the latest MM.

Are You saying that iTunes HAS TO BE INSTALLED for MM to work correctly with iPod Touch 32GB 3G (MC008LL/A)
I have MM 3.2.0.1294 but have no iTunes on my computer and I DON'T WANT to install iTunes, however, MM does not recognize iPod Touch.

I had this issue when I'd installed Quicktime alternative instead of the normal Quicktime, maybe that is the case for you?

Is the Quicktime the thing? I'm experiencing this same problem. Win7 sees iPod Touch as a camera; MM says I have no devices connected.

You need to have iTunes and Quicktime installed for the iPhone/Touch support drivers.
