The short time setting, on the other hand, is fine as HH:mm. Also, you'll need to go through Control Panel -> Region and Language -> Additional Settings -> Date tab, then manually type into the box to change the format (as it's not one of the standard ones on the main drop-down list).

My problem seems to have straightened itself out, and it began working again... Wonder if it is something with my work's firewall.

Use Tools->Options->Library->Last.fm Service->Show Log File
to open the last.fm log in your default text editor.

Copy and paste the first 15 lines of the log here so we can see details of your problems.

e.g. This is the log from startup of my working last.fm using the latest 1.0.2.22 plugin.

Hi Owyn.
Thanks for the reply.
I clicked the Clean Cache button, and it seems to be working again.

I have 2 questions.

1. The Last.fm toolbar button lets me Enable, Disable or Cache. What does the Cache option do for me?
2. Where did you get 1.0.2.22? :)

1. It keeps a record of the plays but does not submit them until you change the icon back to green. That can be helpful in certain situations where you want to delay scrobbles due to submitting plays from portable players, etc.

Hi nohitter151.
I guess you are talking about the cache (amber) button.

Thanks for the info.

Hi you all guys
I'm having this problem since 24th dec 2009 - the latest Last.fm plugin (v1.0.2.22) doesn't allow me to scrobble, because of the error other users reported above: The Bad Sytem Clock Time. I am sure date and time is correct in my computer, I have synced it twice with the Microsoft server. My date zone is GMT+1, and I have checked also that this is correct. I'm using Windows XP and tried changing some options of the regional and language config in control panel, it didn't succeed.
Here I paste the log (notice that the first error is a connection error, that's because I'm not having ADSL connection for some time, and I bought a mobile connection instead, this shouldn't be the problem, because I have scrobbled before with this connection)

I have to say also that this particular day (24th dec 2009) I made a backup of my most important files in my hard drive, because I was going to install Ubuntu 9.10, but actually I didn't install it until 25th afternoon. I tink it may be a BIOS date/time problem, I don't know...

You can contact me on last.fm (http://www.lastfm.es/user/Mizo_Mizo) or send me an email (mizo0mizo@gmail.com)

Thank you beforehand for your efforts.

Haha forget about my problem, I easily solved it - the date in the BIOS was one day in future, and so there was a conflict. What a stupid mistake, I suppose it happened when creating the partitions for Linux... anyway, thanks you all for helping in this forum, and specially one guy above who said something about the BIOS...
Have a Merry Christmas!

I'm also having this issue. The song I'm currently playing registers just fine on last.fm, but the previously played don't show up in my history. I'm not getting bad clock warnings.

Here is an excerpt of my log (I'm running W7 x64; MM and the last.fm plugin got installed today.)

Check Tools->Options->Library->Last.fm Service->Last.fm Service and make sure both options are checked.

I seem to have fixed it by changing the (short) date settings from d/M to M/d.

Hmmm. Good catch. This seems to be a W7 specific problem. You are the second one to report date format fix.

Still on Vista so I can't reproduce the problem, or, the fix.

I just encountered a bizarre problem with the native scrobbling service. I use a laptop and 99% of the time I listen to music at work only, so scrobbling is done there.

However, this weekend I took the laptop home and connected it to our home network, and now MM won't scrobble! Obviously, the settings in MM are the same, the OS (WinXP) and version of MM and plugin are the same, so why would it just stop scrobbling?

Other scrobbling is possible, though:

1. I played some tracks on my iPod, connected it to the laptop, and scrobbled them using QTScrobbler just fine.
2. I played some tracks in iTunes on our home iMac, and they scrobbled just fine.

Here is the log file:

2010-01-10 10:54:02.578: MediaMonkey v3.2.0
2010-01-10 10:54:02.875: Loading Last.fm Scrobbler
2010-01-10 10:54:02.921: ----------------------------------------
2010-01-10 10:54:02.921: Last.fm Scrobbler v1.0.2.22
2010-01-10 10:54:02.921: ----------------------------------------
2010-01-10 10:55:15.718: Last.FM: Nowplaying Play Detected at 1263088515
2010-01-10 10:55:15.734: Last.FM: Handshake Session Started
2010-01-10 10:58:57.421: Last.FM: Submit Started at 1263088737

It seems the MM plugin doesn't even connect to Last.fm very well...?!

It will be interesting to see when I get back to the office tomorrow if it will scrobble there or if the error is permanent...!
