Song Title in player has low quality fonts

Hi All

I have been modding a little and I would like to use a large font for the song title in the player so I see it from across the room.

The problem is that when font size is increased, the letters get blocky because they don't scale up in detail as they get bigger.

Any way around this?

nope they are a little shaggy when using 200 pixel sized letters. and kind of do a split when they scroll.

what skin you moding one you made or the default one. just wondering but if you want to see the size of letters i got working pretty good on these crt monitors. look at the hillbilly rock diner skin screen shot at the skins page of mine on the monkey's wiki site.

thats as big as i got them that they did not look too bad.

how you changing the font size in the theme engine only?
i suggest leaving that font size at 8 or 9 and using the font size adjustment in the player's ini file

Thanks for the info ..... DreadM basically made the perfect skin for me (Vision) so I don't need to play around any more. The letters are big enough and the black is easy on the eyes.

I tried adjusting the font size adjustment but that always seems to mess something up, mainly the side labels like album art, monkeyflow ....

Actually I tried the font size adjustment again and you can set it to 5% and everything is still OK

i did not say use the one in the options panel.

i said in the ini file that will allow you to set the font size for the player and not mess with the theme areas.
but you do that adjustment when your making the skin dreadm might have made them larger in there for you.
but that is where you set the size for the player song title and artist name. any font that scrolls in the player is done that way.

yep if you change the percentage or the pixel size with the font adjustment in the options panel it will mess up things. but only certian thing so if you don't use them then making the font larger with it is fine. it can though make the panels too large and you will not be able to get to any buttons. if you make the fonts tooooo big.
which means you would have to go to a bigger screen res.. to be able to see the buttons and change them back to a smaller size.

Actually the player.ini is part of a skin msz and that is where I was originally changing the font size

oh okay you already tried there. some fonts need a - put in front of the size in the player ini file to be able to show at the proper size wanted. so -22 will be small fonts size 22.
but your wanting the larger fonts, so that is not what you do then you just use normal number but the font text area has to be made big enough for the bottom of the letters y; g; q; p; j; to show or they get cut off, but again you were there so you must have been doing that too. so this is just more info for others that are reading it.
