peterpoos wrote:Thank you Bex for the link.I got as far as "Save the file as MM_HDDSerial.vbs" but when I tried to save the file,a message appeared saying "You don't have permission to save in this location.Contact the administrator to obtain permission" Well,you know what I am going to say - I am a Administrator. Any idea what the problem is and how I can solve it. If you google this message you'll see lots of results returned.Many thanks again for replying to my initial topic
peterpoos wrote:Thank you nohitter151 for your comments. This maybe a stupid question to ask but I'm going to ask it anyway. Does all the information posted on this thread work on any version of MM I decide to install on my new PC i.e.my version I have been using is older than the latest version.Sometimes you are happy with a version of a prog and are not keen for whatever reason on the latest version.What I am trying to say is I want to install my old version of MM including all the data/files etc onto my new PC.Will the "Moving MM to a new computer" do this for me.Thanks.
peterpoos wrote:Thank you nohitter151 for your last reply. I have started afresh and have got as far as this :-
Open this file with notepad and copy the following lines and paste them onto the end of the file, then save.
Copy these lines into Scripts.ini:
[HDDSerial]
FileName=MM_HDDSerial.vbs
ProcName=Change_HDD_Serial
Order=99
DisplayName=Move Device Content
Description=Corrects broken links after exchanged harddrive
Language=VBScript
ScriptType=0
When I try to save,I get the following:-
Confirm Save As
Scripts.ini already exists
Do you want to replace it
Yes No
When I click on Yes,the following appears:-
Notepad
Access is denied
OK
This is just to confirm that my Scripts is showing as a Configuration Settings Type file. Is this correct?
I am at a lost as to what to do next.This is just to let you know that I am a Administrator.
Look forward to any comments/solutions anybody may have to solve my latest problem.Many thanks once again.
peterpoos wrote:Great News. I can now see Move Device Content under Tools->Scripts-> Could somebody please confirm what I do next. Do I just click on the OK button or do I click inside the
C:-OS button and then click OK.
peterpoos wrote:Why does the above state Order=46 yet the line to be added states Order=99.
Does this make any difference? What does this line mean?
