You probably aren't running the latest available version.

hi
i have an iphone 3gs, and im using mm to manage my music. its been working great for a few months, and then my computer went crazy. so i formatted it, installed itunes and mm all over again, updated the new software version on my iphone (4.0.1), and tried to noramlly sync my iphone with mm.
the following message popped up: "the ipod/iphone firmware is not compatible with this version of media monkey. you'll be able to view the contents of the device, but will not be able to write to it." when pressing "ok", it tries to sync but then it starts popping up weird stuff saying that all the music on my iphone isnt in the sync list (and it is).

is it possible that version 4.0.1 doesn't work with mm??? or maybe it's something else??
if it really is not compatible, what am i supposed to do? can it be fixed? how long is it gonna take for mm to update the software?

thanks a lot

You will need to use the latest beta for iOS4 support: viewtopic.php?p=265367#p265367

Am I missing something, but isn't the point of using MM to avoid using the POS that is iTunes. Why the hell do I need to install the Satanic piece of jobsian rubbish in order to get MM to work?

Sorry to sound negative, but I don't want iTunes going anywhere near my PC. Is there a piece of software other than MM that will do the job without any apple rubbish having to be installed?

Thanks.

If you don't want to install iTunes don't buy an iPod/iPhone from Apple. MediaMonkey is a music management program that offers as an additional feature iPod/iPhone syncing for which it depends on iTunes components. It's my understanding that MediaMonkey isn't the only program doing this and others have even dropped iPod/iPhone sync due to Apple's approach.

It's the only way to install the drivers needed to access the iPhone/iPod touch.

Hi there,

I am having trouble trying to set up my Ipod touch to MM. I used to be able to synch all my songs but for some reason IPod does not appear in the tree on the left hand side in MM when I plug it in. Have tried following your guide but with no success.. When I go to configure the Ipod box is ticked so it seems it is there somewhere... Can you help?

Itunes must be installed. Also make sure you're running the latest version of MM.

ARggggg, I thought finally, Media-monkey will once again control my ITOUCH. Well not quite.

I can't get my PODCAST subscriptions to show under Podcast. They do show up under audio books but with no date or order.

I've followed the guide to syncing my Itouch with Media-monkey.

When in Media-monkey 3.2.2.1300, I can see my IPOD and I can see my Podcast subscriptions.

Any ideas, please.

Do your podcasts have "Podcast" as the genre? Only tracks with "book" in the genre should show up as audiobooks.

Nope, they say PODCAST.

But thanks, why oh why, what a world

Thinking about just using Itunes for podcast and Media-Monkey for the music. hmmmm :-?

I have tried everything I can think of, and everything I could find on this forum, but I can't get the iTouch 4G (iOS 4.1) to work in MediaMonkey 3.2.2.1300. MediaMonkey doesn't even see the iPod Touch.

I have also tried to get the iPod Nano 6G to work. No luck either. Though MediaMonkey does detect the Nano 6G and can even copy audio files to it, the mp3's will not play after the Nano is disconnected. The stupid thing is completely oblivious of all copied files.

Has anyone alse managed to get either of these iPods to work?

I have just started using MediaMonkey for syncing my iPod classic, I have version 3.2.2.1300. I installed i Tunes version 10.0.0.68 to set up to work with MediaMonkey, I used your sync guide to configure the settings and everything worked as it should, with no problems. I then decided that iTunes was a lot of file space taken up just to sync music files so I thought I would try your hack as described in your guide.
So I uninstalled iTunes, but I have found that Apple mobile device support and Apple Quick time are still installed in the add and remove prog menu in control panel. Because of this MediaMonkey still syncs with my iPod but without the need for iTunes. So I have my filespace back. I am running this on Windows Vista Home Premium.
Regards Paul.
