sorting in genre node [#7048]

Postby dirk wood » Sun Dec 19, 2010 6:50 pm

Hi

whilst looking in genre node i accidentally sorted the list by album. Giving me a list of a-z of albums (just like the album node would).

Now i cant revert to sorting by genre .. the list of genres is viewable in the tree, but not within the browser.

How can i resolve my playing around?

Kind regards,

dirk

Just click the "Genre" column to sort by genre. If you can't see it, then right click in the column area and check "Genre" to show it.

thanks for your response..

i am viewing in "show album art" right clicking does not give an option to show more columns.

When i go to another view i can select genre column, but it doesn't stay in that order when i go back to album art.

The "Show album art" view isn't customizable, and you can't add/remove column headers for that view. Not sure why, but that's the way it is at the moment.

I found a way to restore to the default GENRE sorting:

1 - Close MediaMonkey
2 - Use Regedit.exe and go to this node:
Code: Select all
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\MediaMonkey\Interface\SortNodeGroups\Software\MediaMonkey\Interface\SortArtNodeGroups

3 - Delete key: 2 (at the right pane)
4 - Close Regedit and restart MediaMonkey

Cheers! :~)

Many thanks Eyal, got the end result i was after.. surprised there's not an easier way considering just how easy it is to unsort genre..

Maybe a fix in a later addition..

Thanks again

Glad it helps. I think it's just an oversight. You're probably the fist person to notice it.

Hi Eyal

Does this reg hack allow you to change the columns in Art View.
I'm using MM v4 and the registry is a bit different so it not easy to guess which key to delete.

Does anyone have a way of changing the columns in Art View or is there a reg key I can change to enable right clicking.
All I want to do is add Timestamp to the columns in Art View.

This wouldn't be possible, each track has it's own timestamp so how would MM know which to display for an album of several tracks?
