Hi,
I upgraded MM3 to Gold specifically to get the Moved/Missing tracks function. It's broken and support hasn't been able to help so far. So I figured I'd give MM4 a try and see if it works any better. Unfortunately the answer is 'no'. MM4 still does not find all the matches it should.
My drive change occured when I bought a new NAS, copied the files and mounted the shares under the same path. M:\path_to_file in both cases, 100% identical. Unfortunately MM tries to be 'smart' about this and doesn't recognize the files. Ok, so let's at least match them when told where to find the files. Nope, still not. This wouldn't be a huge problem as files can be re-imported but this breaks my playlists and -that- is a problem.
Files that are missing are listed as [MediaShare]\path . I was told by support to use UNC paths so I specified \\orion\music (path to my NAS) in the M/M dialog. It matches no files.
As an aside, the M/M dialog looks odd in Vista x64 Home. I can upload a screenshot if the developers can't easily reproduce that by just trying it. Let me know what else I can try to make M/M work. I've tried updating the database with the SQLite tool but can't do actual updates that matter because of the encoding problem. I'm SQL literate so if there are other things to do with the database I welcome suggestions.
Thanks,
Sander

While you wait for a solution, have you tried: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... ove+device?? On a side note I was able to get the Moved/Missing Tracks functionality to work 100% in MM4 on a Win7 64bit machine, something I was never able to do in MM3.

Thanks for your reply. I'm a bit concerned about trying that script as it's for versions 2 and 3. I can't even find the database for my MM4 install. Let me search this sub-forum and see if there are any hints.

Re: Locate Moved/Missing Tracks function doesn't work
Thanks, will take a look at it.
I was able to export the Songs table to .csv, fix it with an Excel macro and export again to .csv. Now I'm having trouble importing the .csv back into the database. sqlitebrowser has an import feature but it's not working. I reported this on the sourceforge site, I hope to get help there. There are lots of other SQLite browsers out there but the quality varies. I have one that can deal with the database better than sqlitebrowser but it doesn't have an import function.
Kinda crazy that after spending $40 to get the moved/missing function I have to spend hours figuring out how to update the database myself.

You can use my SQL-Viewer script to update MM's database:

Re: Locate Moved/Missing Tracks function doesn't work
Well, 30 day back guarantee is always available. This is interesting Issue I think is solvable.
BTW I just moved 30GB outside MM and made those tracks Gray (Files to edit -> Deadlinks), than I used Locate tracks and all tracks were found on new location.

Re: Locate Moved/Missing Tracks function doesn't work
I ended up writing VB.NET code to fix the paths.
