Another example is if you use the "Artist Events" panel. You have to physically click on the "Artist Events" panel each and every time you play a different artist to see if the artist is playing in your location. The non-tabbed version simply appears there if an artist is playing in your location.

In regards to this one, perhaps someone should ask Trix if a setting could be added that would allow tab selection to persist. I know that some tab scripts offer this, don't know if the one he's using can however.

Yeah maybe.
But where would it end?
I would then ask him for "Most Played" which I like to see when playing artists.

The non-tabbed version is very functional and already does this. I don't want to click, click, click all the time. I want to look and listen to my music.
Sorry, but the tab version may seem cool for awhile, but it is less functional and doesn't exhibit the full power of MonkeyRok.

Then you're free to use a different skin, or modify this one (if DreadM wouldn't mind) to a non-tabbed variation.

Is it just me, or is the Monkey Rok background slightly different from the main MM background?

Aha! First I thought that something was broken in my installation.
Then I saw this thread and I was like: mmmh maybe it's an artistic touch! XD

So I let some time pass but still I think you should fix the background color.

I second the request for a dark version.

If 4-Pulse is different than 3 it would be easier to track the differing discussions.

Sadly .... dark skins are pretty much borked on MM4. They are either not good looking or partially broken in the "Album Art with Details" as when you create your own collections most albums are black text on Black.


This forced me to go to this very well made skin ..... but I had to mod it to make it work for me .....

1) increased the contrast on the player view and buttons
2) Moved the seek bar higher so I could make the album info 2x bigger on the player

Anybody want it?

Here is a screenshot and link to my modified version of the 3 Pulse skin

The changes are all cosmetic and all credit goes to the original author ........

The changes are:

1) The contrast is increased for the player buttons and decorations. I calibrated the gamma on my monitor and I set the contrast for best view-abilty while still keeping to the original style.

2) IMO most skins have vital information such as song title in way too small a font to see easily at a glance. Dreads Vision XL is the only other skin I know of with a large font song title in the player (cheers to him). In my modified version of Pulse I made the title as big as possible while still keeping to the original style. The seek bar was moved up to accommodate.

I have been using this skin for a week or 2 with no issues, but your mileage may vary. If your monitor's gamma is set sub-optimally the buttons might be too dark.

PS ....... Thank you to all the skinners and their incredible amounts of patience ...... even these modifications were tricky to do and I tried to do more advanced changes and failed miserably as nothing seemed to work logically or as expected ..... The MM skinning engine really needs a lot of work IMO.
