not sure if those are allowed with out using a script to do the copy and paste. but if that is the case then i think bex might be the one that can fix it.

Hi,

the copy and paste - great idea. But I have a problem. After the right click I see the copy and paste function greyed out. Have I done anything wrong?

My settings:
Windows XP
Medimonkey 3.2.4.1304
Advanced Duplicate 3.7.5

You need to select tracks for the menus to be visible.

It says in the first post "please read the Update log for latest info!" - I've been looking for about 10 minutes, can't find anything that has up-to-date screenshots/instructions on what I want to do though

Lowlander directed me towards this script and I think it will do what I want.
I have done a custom search for same track name, album name, and track number and came up with, as expected, around 4500 songs.
So in 'Keep suggestions' I have got Newest DateAdded, Lowest PlayCount, and LowestSongID so it comes up with all the Alive links instead of all the Dead links which have my play history.
Now I want to get all the play history etc from the Dead links into the Alive links.
In your first post it simply has screenshots of finding and selecting the tracks in the Delete suggestions mode - "Delete Selected and/or Transfer their Playstat"
I don't see that option anywhere, I have right clicked the node, right clicked the selected tracks within the node etc.
I think it's exactly what I need to do to restore my library but I just can't figure out how to do it.

A s a very minor side note there are 10 extra tracks in the 'Delete suggestions' than in the 'Keep suggestions' and I don't know why - shouldn't it match 1:1?

I like the script very much, but having a few problems:

I downloaded the latest version with the fix (3.7.5) for grayed out "Copy" and "Paste Metadata", but it's still grayed out.

Also, the pop up screens are too big for my laptop resolution and you can't scroll down.

Any solutions to these problems?

Hmm, yes "Copy" and "Paste Metadata" and "Delete Selected and/or Transfer their Playstat" doesn't work, I'll have a look.

To reduce the size of the form in "Custom Duplicate Search" and "Find More from Same", you can remove fields you don't use in the options.

Try the previous version, it works:
Advanced Duplicate Find & Fix 3.7.4

The only difference is one line of code that was supposed to fix a installation problem for some Win7 users but it obviously broke other stuff.

Any updates on ADFF 3.7.4 and will it work on MM 4? Reason I ask is that I've installed it on MM 4 but am not seeing the ADFF node in the file listings as I did on MM3. It does show up under Library on the Options screen........Beta Bug maybe?

What is the "albumtrackcount" field? I have tried searching google and the forum but can only find that it is a search/compare criteria in Find & Fix but have no idea what it relates to or how to use it.

The album track count is the count of tracks in the album.

Wow. 61 pages. Read the first 10 or so but didn't find anything that addresses the following question:

I have a very large collection (300,000+ mp3 files), with about 65,000 duplicates (from having consolidated multiple mp3 folders from multiple hard drives onto a single 2TB external harddrive).

After scanning and locating duplicate tracks, is there an option that will allow me to remove all duplicates (from both MM library and from hard drive) en masse/at once? I cannot see myself manually clicking "Delete" for 65,000+ duplicate tracks.

Yes it is. Check out the "Create Keep/Delete Suggestion"-node it splits up your dupes into one keep-node and one delete-node. You can then manually mass-delelete the dupes you don't want

First - big thanks, your script is awesome and saves a lot of time while maintaining a nice audio library.
I just have a very little wish - I would like to have the possibility to select "Year" as a filter option for the "Create Keep/Delete Suggestion Nodes"-dialog.

It would also be sufficient if you could tell me where and how to edit the script myself to add this possiblity just on my computer.
