Thanks Lowlander, sorry if I hit a sore spot..........but it doesn't hurt to ask for an update. I've been watching the Beta Builds and the number of fixes being referenced continues to decrease which is great! Just thought we might be getting close........

As discussed many times these updates are normally not given as when they're given they only serve to anger users as they come and go.

expected time for final version of mm 4 is december either 2011 or 2012.
if any earlier then its great, if later then its still great. but as to exact time for final release check lowanders previous message.

i know i know its a smart but answer but it is a time frame answer for you that need one.

Here's an easy way to get a rough idea of where we are in terms of a release.

Number of Immediate and Urgent issues for 4.0. Immediate means it should be fixed for the next build, Urgent means should be fixed for the release. The developers must fix these issues and they need to be verified by testers before release.

Check how many issues need to be verified before the release by beta testers / mods

Of course, users are reporting new issues all the time in the forum, so we've got to take into account reporting, fixing, and verifying the fixes to those issues as well. As you can see, there's still a little ways to go, but we're making good progress towards a release candidate!

I'm willing to bet we'll see a release candidate before the end of May, and a release by the end of July at the latest. (this is based on my own speculation of course, nothing "official").

rusty just posted a list on mantis of how many errors need to be fixed before they can think of a RC release.
