Using MM4 1396, at a certain point wasn't active anymore.
I thought it was hanging, but that was not the case.
I just had to respond to a warning message (many items have not been analized yet, do you want to continue?), but that warning message was hidden behind MM and various other applications.
Please always put it on top of MM.

Do you have any addons installed? Especially addons that create panels like MiniLyrics?

only a few tagging scripts and the external tools extension (that i can't find back in any menu except extensions)

Hi,
Do you recall what the warning dialog was for? i.e. what action triggered it and whether it was part of a script or MM proper?
Are you able to replicate the behavior?

All kinds of popups are often hidden...
Earlier today I posted the message below in a new topic, assuming that it was in fact a new issue: I thought the hidden warning mentioned in THIS topic was just related to these warning messages, but the same behavior goes to all popups.

I already reported a few days ago I thought MM was hanging, but that was not the case: it had popped up an error message that I had to confirm - but I didn't see that message, since it was hidden 'behind' MM and even other applications.
Since then I have had this very frequently, with all kinds of pop-up windows, such as the Edit Property box and the 'This script was successfully installed' message.
When I watch the pop-up behavior closely there is inconsistent behavior:
1. Some popups behave normal and stay on top of MM - as they all should
2. Some appear during 0,000000001 second on top and then flash away, hidden in the background
3. Some never appear on top, nothing seems to happen, but MM seems to hang. Trying to activate it activates the warning sound that the app is waiting for some response from my side.
In case 2 & 3 it often helps to click (often more than 1 time) on the MM-instance-label in the taskbar. Then the hidden window is shown on top.
Please let it automatically be shown on top all the time!

Today I cleared my complete library and started to rebuild it from scratch - hoping a few mysterious and annoying problems would disappear.
Well, the first old one was back immediately, before I had even imported 1 single track: the hidden popup.
When I wanted to change the icon for a script in my toolbar, I was waiting for something to happen. Nothing happened.
But when I wanted to continue I heard the 'program is blocked' sound, often referring to an expected response from the user.
That request was there: the explorer window, ready to search for an icon.
But the window was hidden behind the MM window - no problem if you KNOW that, but a problem if you don't know.
So once again, please put by default all popup windows ALWAYS on top of MM.

it's not only warning messages. I experience the problem of windows being opened in the background of MM several times a day!
I hoped that this will be solved in MM4. Sadly I had to notice that also in MM4 I have got the same problem.
And it is not only connected with addons - it happened with the window opening to view the cover/art work in full size on MM4 1399!
Maybe that's only a probelm on multiple screen systems?

I Have this problem when delete folder on IRiver MTP player from the folders tree. During processing, I change the current folder. After same seconds, MM hangs. At other times, I don't touch anything and see message: 'Do you want delete this folder'. Yesterday, during sincronizaton, I opened menu with mouse. That don't work. But been opened with keyboard, all works.

sometimes it's tricky to understand if MM hangs, or simply a user dialog window is opened in the background.
Before I think that MM hangs, I check two things - changing to another programm and back to MM, and/or as I described using ALT-TAB to get the task manager programm switching window and ALT-SHIFT-TAB to get back to MM. This gets back the hidden dialog window to the front. I am quite sure that wuite often people think MM hangs, but in reality just a dialog window is somewhere hidden in the background..

If either of you can provide a set of steps to consistently reproduce the problem (or perhaps a video with Jing), that would be really helpful.
This bug can be really annoying, and if there are cases where it's still occuring, I'd like to quash it.

On occasion it can happen when double clicking Art in the Art Browser with Double Click set to Edit Properties.

I don't have set double click to edit properties, but play now. Anyway it happened only once with the cover art.
But it do happen frequently with the confirmation dialogue of deleting files when I use Advanced duplicate script. So after the script finished copying/moving/manipulating tagging information the small window confirming the deletion of files (in case I opted for that) is opening in the background quite often. So when I have the impression that after using advanced duplicate script MM freezes, I do my ALT-TAG workaround to bring the dialog to the front.
I'll try to reproduce this and let you know details.
