Syncing play counts back from Cowon i10

Auto-Sync works well with my Cowon i10 except that it does not sync the play counts back from the device. I have activated "Auto-Sync files from the device to the PC", but it did not fix this. It would be great if anyone could help me fix this, as play counts are fairly important to me. Thanks!

For devices that syncing back playcounts is confirmed to work with (iPod, Zen) the sync back of playcounts is automatic, it happens regardless of settings.

Most likely MM does not support syncing back playcounts from your device.

I only know of this solution for Sansa/rockbox devices:

And this for Android devices:

Unfortunately I don't think either would be a solution for your device.

I actually managed to get this to work for a while by using MTP mode. However, it's always been fairly erratic; on my previous laptop, it worked consistently for a while, then started working for some songs but not others. Now, on my new laptop, it's worked consistently for several months but has recently ceased to update any play counts at all. Might this be related to switching back and forth between MTP mode and MSC mode, as I need to use MSC mode to transfer playlists with ZvezdanD's addon?
