iOS5 - Asking the obvious...

Postby adrianmarsh » Sun Feb 12, 2012 12:44 pm

Hiya,

Just to ask a really obvious question here, but has anyone from MM actually approached Apple about integration ?

'Don't ask.. don't get' and all that....

It seems odd to me that if Apple is willing to open up an API for iTunes, where I currently use the MM/iTunes sync script, that they don't open up more for the iPhone too.

(don't flame me...)

Yes, I'm aware of the TOS.... but what I'm asking about is a perfectly legal agreement between MM and Apple. Software houses setup inter-company licensing agreements all of the time, outside of the normal EULAs. I'm also not saying that I'd expect Apple to agree, but, I am wondering if the question has been asked at all.

Do you really think Apple would willingly allow someone to break the iTunes stronghold that is key to their lock-in?

Apple know iTunes is shite, but they also know people are forced to use it. They also know it's key to everything they sell. If you don't use iTunes, they can't sell you more stuff.
