Sorting Numbers in Custom Fields

I use one of the custom fields for numbers, but when I go to sort my songs by that field, it sorts it wrong.

For instance, if I have 90, 10, and 1000, it will sort them 10, 1000, 90, instead of in numerical order.

Is there any way I can fix this?

No. Custom fields are sorted alphabetically. The only way around it would be to use leading zeros.

Hi!

I'm having problems with sort order of custom fields, I use one of them for version number of tracks in the format of 3-1, 3-2, .... 3-10, 3-11,3-12.

This means that the tracks are sorted incorrectly, i.e. 2-10, 2-11, 2-12, 2-1, 2-2, 2-3....etc.

and it's seems that custom fields are sorted alphanumerically.

- Anything done regarding this since 2012, I'm currently using version 4.1.21.1875?
- Anything I can do to fix this, other than of course using format 2-01, 2-02 etc?

Correction...

The sort order is actually: 2, 2-1, 2-10, 2-11, 2-12, 2-2, 2-3, 2-4, ...etc.

custom fields are sorted alphanumerically.

That's correct - 2-11 can never be a number
For albums use the fields Disc # and Track #
