Will the free version of MM4 allow me to sync my collection to my ipod? Want to make sure that MM actually works this time for syncing before I pay for it.

Yes, syncing works in the free version. The only feature that you won't have access to in regards to sync and the free version is auto-conversion.

peppergomez,

I bought a 160g classic two weeks ago. I use auto-sync for syncing and it works great.

I configure my device, click Tools, navigate to Sync Device and click Sync Device. Make sure your ipod is visible as the device and make sure you have Auto-Synchronize checked in same area. The only problem I've had is if I sync too much at once the album art doesn't show up, but I think that's a problem with my laptop.

I hope this helps.

This is not a forum for iTunes, you're asking in the wrong place.

It gets in my nerves when people post quick questions as guests (without even registering in the forums) expecting all the hard working Media Monkey developers to give free advise on something developed by a profitable (apple) company.....

I have just downloaded MM, and I am trying to use it to sync music on my iTouch to a new laptop. The old laptop just doesn't turn on anymore - the music I am trying to access was all ripped from CDs onto the old (now dead) laptop.

I have the latest version of iTunes, updated OS (but not ios5), and newest Quicktime. I am fairly bad at computer stuff, but i can usually follow step by step instructions.

iTunes can see my iTouch, but MM cannot. I have read through the help topics, but I don't see this problem recently. Is there something about the 4.2.1 OS that is a conflict with MM?

I just hooked up my first iPod, a nano 6g, and it all just connected and synced with no problems. It Just Worked! No iTunes, no drivers to install. That's with MM4.0.3 on WinXP/64.

The MM options pages for devices are substantially different now from the captures shown in nohitter's wiki instructions. I couldn't find the option anywhere for "Force iTunes style folders", which makes sense that it's no longer an option.

Tools > Sync device > Sync device or click the blue "sync" button to the right of your device.

Not sure if there's a more specific forum for this

I synced an iPod Classic and found that some tracks have distortion and/or approx. half second gaps at points before the track continues. The majority seem fine, but (at a guess) I'd say approx. 20% have failed to sync correctly.

I'd wondered if it was a transcoding issue (FLAC to MP3) but found the same problem with MP3s of various bitrates, so it wasn't that. I even confirmed that it wasn't the speakers and replayed errors which repeated, thus eliminating other possibilities. :-?

Any insight on this will be welcome!

NOTE: In case it's relevant, my settings aren't currently set like the recent wiki post, and I was still using MM3 when it was synced.

Just trying out MM for my 6G nano. Got everything to work except compilation albums, they appear as individual tracks by artist on the ipod, how do you fix it so that the compilation appears as an album?

Thanks.
