music files not showing up in MM from 4S IPhone

Hi All:
When I plug my Iphone 4S running OS 5.1 into my laptop, MM recognizes the Iphone but no music files are listed/show up. I previously had loaded these files using ITunes from a different laptop. I authorized this laptop and want to add music files but don't want to lose the files I have. What to do? Thanks for any help!

Is iTunes and QuickTime installed on the computer (and if so which version)?

In that case try sending a debug log (step 4b) capturing the problem to support: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=341

Thanks but how would I do that? It's not really a discrete bug to capture. I can add music via MM to my Iphone; the existing music files just don't show up when the Iphone is connected...

You capture it by having DBGView running while you connect the iPhone and try to see the files in MediaMonkey.

Ok thanks. I did that and submitted it but DebugView might not have picked up anything while I attempted to view files on the iPhone...

Run DBGView as administrator if it doesn't shown any entries (also make sure you run the debug version of MediaMonkey 4.0.3.1483).

I was running 4.0.5 beta since I have an iPhone 4S that is running OS 5.1. From reading the site it looked like 4.3 wouldn't necessarily work with my phone. I used DebugView v4.78, the one from the link from the site you supplied me...

As a side note: maybe it's the beta version, but when I added a large folder of music files several of my albums are listed under "U" for unknown artist even though they are tagged with artist info...

4.0.5.1483 beta comes in a debug and a non-debug version. Only the debug version will generate logs in DBGView.

btw, I wonder if this could be related to http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=9297 . In other words, does syncing 20 tracks succeed, but syncing 20k tracks result in some failed syncs?

Hi Art,

I'm sorry to have to ask you to redo this--there were a bunch of fixes in the latest build (1484) that may resolve the problem.

Can you please try out the latest build and let us know the outcome? If the bug persists, can you generate a new debug log?
