Syncing my sansa clip+ (internal memory) works well.
Now I have a couple of MP3 with different filename, but identical title and identical artist.
Everytime I start syncing, these files will be deleted from the sansa and newly transfered.
Changing the title to different titles in MM is solving the problem.

What about including more detail in the mask for filenames on the device? Like Album and/or Track#?

The filenames are different.
I have installed 1486 and played with some tags.
This sync problem I see only with identical titles.
In this case these files will be deleted on the sansa and newwly synced everytime sync is started.
Adding or changing other tags has no influence on the above described sync problem.
Changing the titles to different names stops deleting and newly syncing.

What is your filename mask?

Also: do both tracks (that have identical titles) appear on the device?

@rusty
Both are copied and I can find them on the sansa.
@Lowlander
F.e. the filename are "00 On The Road Again_1.mp3" and "00 On The Road Again_2.mp3" in MM and on the sansa.
This are the original (added) filenames - MM hasn't change them.

So it is like I said, change the mask in the Device Profile to include more than what seems to be <Track#> <Title> so that when it syncs files with the same Title to the device it creates a unique filename instead of a duplicate filename as you show.
The problem may be that MediaMonkey fails to keep track of files synced with the same filename on device (appended by _1, _2, etc.).

Re: [1485/1486]Sync in MTP mode (not tested in MSC mode)
Merci,
Ok - a normal usecase is to have equal titles, but with different Interpret, album ....
In this case widen the filemask solves the problem of repeating syncs.
Now I have some double MP3s with identical tags, which I want to inspect on my sansa (and delete the worst).
OK - this is not a normal usecase, but MM allows double tracks, why not syncing them directly.

It does seem to have an issue when syncing duplicate filenames to device: http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=9320
