Disc 1 burn failed

Postby airider » Fri Mar 09, 2012 5:47 pm

Since transitioning to MM 4.0.3, all the discs I burn receive the following error. Disc 1 burn failed: Hardware Error: TRACK FOLLOWING ERROR, Error code: 40900

Adjusting settings in burn dialog box has not resolved the issue. Didn't have any of these problems with MM 3.x.

I'm still on 4.0.0.1459 and I'm having the same problem. Other posts I've skimmed allude to a dirty optical drive although I've blasted it out a bit with canned air and used an optical drive cleaning cd and am still getting the error myself so I've got no idea what else it might be.

Hi, have the same issue and get that message always burning with MM. Didn't had that issue with old MM3 version and do not get issues with other tools (burning data CDs).

Very rare, that the lense of the writer is causing that issue, I'm running MM 4.0.3.1476 (no Gold, I had with MM3). It worked at the beginning, but not anymore :-(

Turned off "On The Fly" burning and it works again.

Maybe this can help the developers:

When burning an audio CD, I get, "Disc 1 Burn Failed" Illegal request: Error code 53006" on Vista. Very curiously, I changed nothing and gambled another CD, and it burned without error the second time. This same effect, (burning OK the second time) was happening on a previous release of Media Monkey (4.0.2.???? and before), and it is still happening on 4.0.3.1476. It looks like changing the disk-at-once to track-at-once option works OK, but that has some limitations. The rest of this system is so very, very good, I hope to see it fixed. Much better than Media Player or ITunes database.

I have had the same problem with MM 4.03. When I unchecked burn on the fly (which I dont know the meaning of anyway), it did manage to burn a complete disc. A short one. Now trying a longer disk and . . . it apparently is going to take a whole hour to burn a 70-min disc. Lovely.
