Microsoft VBScript compilation error, occured in 2 scripts

Postby madk » Fri May 18, 2007 3:39 pm

I cannot run 2 scripts and I am getting the same frustrating error, The fault occured first with the Greeklish script. I thought in the beginning the problem was the handling of the greek characters. The same error occured, though, in the PersonalTagEnhancer script.

The error is like that
Error #1032 - Microsoft VBScript compilation error
invalid character
□ώ'
File "C:Program files/Mediamonkey/Scripts/PersonalTagEnhancer.vbs", Line:1, Column: 0

I'm doing circles here, cause I wanna use the 2 scripts for about the same purpose, but I am unable to.

Any ideas..?

Solution Found.

The scripts had to be saved using a notepad alternative.

Notepad could not save the characters correct even though all ecnoding and characters options have been tried.

If you're using Notepad++ use ANSI encoding (menu "Encoding" > "Encode in ANSI").

THX for posting!
Had the same error and setting my editor (UltraEdit) to save in ANSI format did the trick.
