ITouch with iOS5 sync doesn't work

Hi there,

I'm new to the board, but already a big fan of the Monkey. Perhaps this issue is new:

Using Media Monkey beta build 1493, IPHONE 4 with iOS 5.1.1 and ITouch 4 with iOS 5.1.1.

Syncing the IPHONE is a snap, no issues synching via a Playlist or with an individual song. The ITOUCH is a different matter. It seems to use the same plug in, and a single song from the Monkey library appears to sync just fine, but it isn't there. The internal directory on either "device" is the same - /ITUNES_Control/Music....

Once a sync for a single song is complete, it just isn't there on the ITouch. Media Monkey can't play it directly, although when browsing the device after sync, it shows that it is there. Unplug the ITouch and plug it back in to browse again, the song is not there.

Any ideas?

It works for me so:
1) Delete all files of device using MediaMonkey
2) Sync single song to device using iTunes
3) Do your regular AutoSync in MediaMonkey

Hi Lowlander, thanks for the steps. They worked perfectly. This was a brand new ITouch - never been synched with ITunes before. I just went thru the setup on the device itself. Was my problem just because I was attempting to use MediaMonkey with a device never touched/synced by ITunes? I guess I didn't realize that needed to take place.

Any insight into that would be great, but thanks for the help!

I have an Ipod Touch 3rd generation using IOS 5.1.1. I am trying to sync with the latest MM version. I sync ONLY playlists made in MM. I do not have Itunes installed on this computer, but have the drivers via the "Copy Trans Drivers Installer" a user suggested.

It kind of works, but not really. If I only do a small subset of my playlists it seems to work, but when I do them all (5000 songs) It either
1) Force closes MM before the playlist associations occur. This means the songs are on my Ipod, but MM doesn't realize they are. or
2) If it makes it to the end some songs show up grayed out on IPOD. I am not sure if they are on Ipod or not.

This Ipod was Jailbroken and I reset it to "out of the box" via Itunes on another computer.

You may want to create a debug log (step 4b) capturing the crash or the failure to sync all and send it to support: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=69

OR install iTunes but don't use it. We haven't tested MM with the drivers from 'Copy Trans Drivers Installer', so it's possible that that's part of the problem.
