Make 'Searchbar' wider with more visible space?

Postby MMuser2011 » Tue May 22, 2012 12:01 pm

How can I adjust the size of the Searchbar? Actually, two times the word "interpret:" fills already the entire visible space.
Is it possible to make this field wider?

the searchbar actually can be made wider by editing the skin that you use. It's not too difficult but not a straightforward change either. I'd suggest you request a larger searchbar from the author of whatever skin you are using or check the wiki for how to make the change yourself.

FANTASTIC! Thank you very much, nohitter151!
According to the Wiki I learned that the MM4-Skin is a collection of files in a *.msz archive, stored in the MM4 program subdirectory \Skins. This *.msz file is a zip file. One of the files inside your great Vitreous.msz is called 'Settings.ini'. In this 'Settings.ini' I found the section
Code: Select all
 [Search]
InactiveTextColor=CCCCCC
ActiveTextColor=000000
Width=150
After changing the value from 150 to 350, saving the 'Settings.ini' back to the Vitreous.msz and copy this file back to the \Skins-Folder with the necessary access rights, I started MM4 and:
FINALLY, a wonderful much wider searchbar!!! :D

Thanks again for your hint!

I forgot to say:
Save the modified 'Vitreous.msz' with a new filename like 'VitreousWideSearchBar.msz' to the same \Skins folder. Otherwise, it will be overwritten with the next MediaMonkey-Update (what I have just experienced with MM 4.0.1496) :wink:
