When I try to play a song the whole library cycles

I installed Media Monkey Gold (I have a lifetime key) on my new 'puter.

I have w7 OS.

When I click on the song I want to hear the whole library (9700 songs) is cycled thru without ever playing anything.

is that it was all the songs grayed out like it sounded like or is there still something causing this?

I have exactly the same problem. It is like MM is rereading the entire library when first restarted, in my case 17,000 files. That takes about 15 minutes. After that it will play any file. There must bew a way to turn off that rereading?

Scanning on startup is Folder Monitoring: http://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/index.p ... he_Library

Reading on startup depends on node selected and Now Playing length. You may want to contain fewer files in the Now Playing.

Thanks Lowlander, you solved my problem. I changed the now playing option to selected files only and now there are no more long delays. Thanks for taking the time to answer my question. Big help.
