Duplicate & triplicate synch?

Postby Zzaj » Sat Jun 30, 2012 1:02 am

When I synch (now, after loading 4.0.6.4.199), I'm getting dupe and trip synchs; it never did that before. I've checked & rechecked the 2 drives, the library, etc., & see no folders that would be causing duplicate/triplicate. ALSO, it now takes FOREVER (15 to 20 hours) to synch 18,000 tunes, where it used to take only 3 to 4 hours.

Has anyone experienced this & has there been any kind of fix?

External (Western Digital, recognized by MM) USB drive, Auto-Synch (that I start manually with a right-click on the drive letter, as EXTERNAL DEVICE).

In that case you may want to create a debug log (step 4b) capturing the auto-sync and send it to support: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=69

Zzaj,

Please let us know if this is still occurring with 4.0.6.1501, and if yes, send in a debug log.

p.s. is the drive using the d_wmdm sync plugin or the USB Mass Storage plugin (you can check at Tools > Options > Portable/Audio Devices).

Thanks.

Rusty - it's using the USB Mass Storage plugin; just downloaded 1501 & am trying now. I isolated a few errors that I may have caused (by using separate directories for music "waiting" for review & music that "has been" reviewed. I'll let you know how the synch goes.

One other question, though... if you initially drop files into one sub-directory, then update the tags, etc., and move it to another sub-directory (within the same tree folder), will the "Add/Rescan files to the library" make the changes for you, or is there some manual step that must be accomplished prior to the synch?

Add/Rescan Files will pick up the files in their new location, but may leave entries for their old location in the MediaMonkey database (Files to Edit > Dead Links will show these entries).
