This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action.
Edit: I associated xzip.dll with Media Monkey then ran the command and it still won't let me check the output option

Justa thought: Ensure the command is Run as Administrator

Are you able to select the browse to the right on that line and choose a location or is the whole thing grayed out?

Yep - able to click browse - also able to manually enter a path... but I can't check the check box.

I know my setup isn't what you want to do but if you set everything like mine, are you able to check that box?

The only reason that you would not be able to check that box is if the script cannot access the XZip component. You will definitely need to make sure it is registered (using regsvr32) and may also need to run MM as administrator. If it won't register where it has been installed to, you could try moving the .dll into the "system32" folder and registering it there.

Hi, when I try to use Backup 5.8, the following error message is displayed:

Image

Which translated to English means:
Error executing script event.
Registry Key ''HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explorer\Shell Folders\Common AppData" was not opened for reading

Windows 7 Ultimate X64 SP1
MediaMonkey 4.0.6.1501 started with Administrator rights

Maybe this key does not exist in your registry?

Backup 5.8 changes the Windows Registry? What kind of crap ...?

No, it reads the registry, hence why the error message translates to "was not opened for reading". This particular key is where MM stores the location of your Extensions folder, which I need in order to back it up.

Hi There,
I am currently updating to Win7 from Win XP and have exported everything using BAckup 5.8
Just a question: How do I load the settings and db back into a newly installed MM?
thx

I think the locations will be different, so you'll probably have the move the file manually. It's hard to give step by step instructions when I don't know what settings you've used to backup, but it really is as simple as copying the files from the backup into the correct locations.

Hi, it seems to have worked to manually copy the folders back.
However, on MM start up, I get error messages such as "the folder C:\documents and options\username\localised options\app data\virtual cd cannot be found" (translated).
I can see that MM is trying to refer to a Win XP path that is no longer there but currently I cannot quite figure out how to solve this ie how and where to adjust the paths.
How can I fix this. Cheers

You should be able to specify the Win7 path in the MM options. Let us know if you get stuck.

somehow it works and no error notes show up. MM seems to have sorted it out by itself...
