Podcasting Help

Postby olestever » Wed Jan 25, 2006 8:02 pm

It seems that evey player I have tried is lacking something. I think I would like to register MediaMonkey if I can do the following:

I am subscribing to Podcasts which autodownload to specific directories. I want to be able watch these directories and automatically add files to Media Monkey, I would then like to just plug in my Sandisk mp3 player and automatically synch the new files I have not played yet.

I think if I register, that I can watch directories. Will MediaMonkey automatically sync my new and unplayed/unsynched media ?

Yes, it can be done with MM.

Only one note: MM will not update SAN Disk Play Counter in MM library you will need to to do that Manualy withi MM (Script is available).

Welcome (Soon) to Gold Community and I (and most of us here too) will be glad to help you in setting SAN To Work as you like.

I've had one SANDisk MP3 in my possesion to test and it worked with MM. it is recognized as Mass drive and has Drive letter.
Best regards,

Thanks for the reply. I am not sure what the play counter is or what it is for. Can you enlighten me?

Play Counter = Number of times you have played a song.

That info is updated when you play a song (and stored) within MM.
Quite usefull to determine your favourites etc

Playcounter is an attribute of a file which counts how often you already played that file. It would be needed to check if a podcast hasn't been played and should be transferred. But unfortunately, you can't get playcount from many mp3-players.

It would be easier to have all files on your player and new ones will be synched to it if they aren't already on your player
