AIFF play back? [#6364]
I have some AIFF files which seem I need to install the wave input plug-in inorder to play. Can't find it in the MediaMonkey downolad page? Where can I get it?

This one will work:
http://www.winamp.com/plugin/relic-aifx-decoder/272
Or you can try here:

Re: AIFF play back?
Which one? I guess I assumed they both would work since they are both Winamp 2.x plugins and should work with MM, but I have never tested them. I know the nullsoft waveform decoder plugin used to be listed on the MM addons website so that should definitely work.Jason Wong wrote:Thanks. I installed this, can see the files but cannot play..... Re: AIFF play back?
This advice does not seem to work for MM4. The plugin does nothing. Any ideas?

Re: AIFF play back?
I installed both plugins, not sure which one is working but it works! I can't drag and drop files though I have to import through the menu.
Re: AIFF play back?
Please note that fail could be due the fact that both proposed plugins do not support Unicode/UTF8 and that Filenames need to be in Latin1 (ASCII) Codepage

Re: AIFF play back?
FYI everyone - five years later, and MM still does not natively support AIFF format.
This is kind of disappointing... looking through the bug reports, it looks like they were working on it... then stopped because something else came up... then started working on it again... then someone was gong to do it if they had time....
Five years, and all I can find is a link in a forum to another of the same question which points to a link of yet another of the same question which then links to this thread. No long-term, permanent solutions, and nothing that allows full use of the format. (I.E. You can't fully tag, etc.)
I love this product... it's helped me locate songs in seconds instead of searching the hard drive... can look up lyrics (though some come up incorrect) for songs... find album art... even link to product pages in Amazon for purchase of albums, or tag from the same... but can't recognize a format that's been out for going on 30 years, but is still in use in many places.
Disappointing.

Re: AIFF play back?
Thats why I wont buy it and absolutelly my only reason. For me this is an important format and they rather spend time on useless functionality than supporting the best file formats. REALLY DISAPPOINTING THAT THIS TAKES SO MANY YEARS

AIFF in MediaMonkey
How can I get AIFF files in MM? I saw something online about an add on but that didn't work. Is there a solution to this? If not is there a recommended to converter to change to FLAC then?
