There is a tooltip, but it is not mode-specific and does not explain the color coding.nohitter151 wrote: I believe if you just hover over the button there is a tooltip that indicates exactly which mode you're in.
Altho I agree with the green/yellow/red coloring used in MM, since last.fm's default color is red (and their tray icon is red when scrobbling enabled, grey when not), there is a source of confusion there.

Re: Last.fm Scrobbler help
More convoluted and confusing steps just to try to get help. Would it be possible to get a help file or a simple document that explains how to install and configure the add-on?
Don't get me wrong -- I really do appreciate that the app is there - for free yet. It's great that it's available and I hate to look a gift horse in the mouth but so often these apps are like mysterious black boxes that have a rows of unlabeled buttons. You have to guess at which random buttons to press and then try to figure out what happens. It shouldn't all be guess work. We shouldn't have to reverse engineer the software to use it. We cannot psychically ascertain how to use the app.
Without decent documentation, the software is of little use. The effort is wasted.

Re: Last.fm Scrobbler help
Double click installer, let install, restart MM, provide account details under Tools > Options > Last.fm Service, done. You can also configure what Collections should or shouldn't be scrobbled.

Re: Last.fm Scrobbler help
I don't see why it's needed, it's not different from any other addon. Double click to install and configure it in the MM options. Seems too straightforward to need any documentation.Darryl_Gittins wrote:More convoluted and confusing steps just to try to get help. Scrobbling to Last.fm to soon
Could there be a facility to delay scrobbling to Last.fm until at least half of the track duration has been played?
From Last.fm's scrobbling specification:
"A track should only be scrobbled when the following conditions have been met:
The track must be longer than 30 seconds.
And the track has been played for at least half its duration, or for 4 minutes (whichever occurs earlier.)"
http://www.last.fm/api/scrobbling
The current MediaMonkey is hair triggered, and is prone to logging false plays if you have finder trouble on the new android version of MM

Want a dark skin for MM5? This is the one that works best for me .. elegant, compact & clear.

Re: Last.fm Scrobbler help
It wouldn't need any documentation if it worked, but it doesn't work for me or apparently for a number of other people on the thread. There's no indication from the LastFM Website that anything is being communicated between LastFM and MM.nohitter151 wrote:I don't see why it's needed, it's not different from any other addon. If it's so straightforward, then how does one know what the toolbar button does? What does it mean when the button is red? What does it mean when the button is Black? What does the third color option do?
Re: Last.fm Scrobbler help
That was answered a few posts up, green scrobbles directly to last.fm, orange saves scrobbles to cache for later submission to last.fm, red doesn't scrobble at all.
The lack of documentation has nothing to do with the problems people have (I have had problems with it too and understand how it works). The problems are bugs in the scrobbler affecting some that we have been promised that will be fixed (including some new features) in a future release of the Addon.
When scrobbling fails you free to open a support ticket (only for this Addon!) and attach the log showing what has been happening.

Unicode support for cache mode - Last.fm Scrobbler
Hello all, i was wondering if this bug in the Mediamonke last.fm official scrobbler, is getting fixed since a long time ago or no ? every time the pc isn't connected to internet, or entering cache mode (yellow button), the scrobbler stores the metadata of the song as ???????? ???? - ???? ???????? and hence that, last.fm servers thinks its a bad request and don't scrobble it.
I have some arabic and japanese songs that doesn't scrobble, but i'm really sure this bug is concerning all the unicode languages like chinese...etc
for the informations, i'm usingthe latest version of scrobbler, the latest mediamonkey,...no plugins else installed to say its a conflict, its all clean, no problems caused by me, theoriginal post thread i sent is actually more than 1 year ago, and there are maybe some others who are better older than mine, please tell us if this thing can be adressed in the next releases of MediaMonkey, i can't find any solution to this, or maybe it needs the code to be written from scratch
For aditional informations, here's my cache log from the recent session:

Re: Last.fm Scrobbler help
I can't even get the plug-in to install. I get the error:
"Error #13 - Microsoft VBScript runtime error
Type mismatch: 'UBound'
File: 'C:\Users...AppData\Roaming\MediaMonkey\Scripts\Auto\!LastFM.Options.vbs', Line: 312, Column: 2"
I also get the error:
"Error happened during installation:
Type mismatch: 'UBound'"
Please don't tell me that the solution is to re-install MM. I've spent a long time customizing it.
I've tried to just enter my username and password in the options field, and try to scrobble anyway, but it didn't work.
I have the gold version. The least you'd expect from a music player, especially one you pay for, is the ability to work with Last.FM.

Re: last.fm
Are you saying you will use WinAmp as Player for MediaMonkey (Tools > Options > Player) or are you still going to play files with MediaMonkey?
