Another iPod Question

in iTunes I have grown accustomed to dragging songs onto my iPod.

The only way I have gotten MM to put music on my iPod is copy the songs to one of the FXX folders, then rebuild the database so the iPod will actually show the songs.

I rarely use playlists, I just shuffle the contents on it as I workout or drive. Is there a better way to get music onto the iPod without all these hoops to jump through. Im suspecting that I have to create a giant playlist and sync to it. Is there another way? I liked being able to drag onto the iPod in iTunes. I just prefer to use MM
