Can anyone tell me how I can get my ipod music [ mac format] onto my pc . I plug the pod in and am told I need to restore settings , but this will wipe all the music .

I'm fairly certain this task will not be possible as you have things set up. You cannot use an Mac formatted iPod on a PC. The Windows OS does not understand the Mac file system. Even if you got some program for the PC to read the Mac file system, it would be annoying. That's because iTunes stores music on the iPod not in a nicely organized file system, but in folders with cryptic names. It also changes the names of each song to some cryptic name. I think this was all done to prevent people from using the iPod to easily copy files to/from other computers.

I'm not the expert on this, so you may want to double-check what I'm telling you by doing a search over at ilounge.com, with the best iPod-related forums on the net.

If the computers are located at the same location, can you network the Mac and the PC? If you have broadband, you can use the Internet (slowly) to move files from one computer to another using something like FolderShare or even IM.

hmmmmm , I get the feeling microsoft and apple aren't good fishing buddies. I'll try net working the computers as you suggest .
