fyi, a 1.1.3 bugfix release is currently being worked on (to be released shortly).

This targetted for 1.1.4.

This feature is now available via the 'MediaMonkey' beta stream.

See the following re. how to access/install it:

And let us know how it works for you. Thanks.

Outstanding!

Thank you Rusty and the development team. Works great on both Chromecast and Chromecast Audio devices.

It also shows our tabletop digital radio in the list of cast targets (along with its IP address), but I can't figure how to make the radio respond to my music choices using MMA. Not really a problem, but would be nice if it worked as well. Any idea why this is showing up or how to make use of it?

Thanks again for making this happen! It will get a lot of use in our home.

Best,
Dennis

OK, first problem with Chromecast support encountered: gapless playback is not supported.

I tested this with OGG format (native gapless support) and MP3 format (software-supported near-gapless support), and on Chromecast and Chromecast Audio devices.

Gapless works fine on my Galaxy S3 running Android 4.4.2 with the latest MMA when NOT using Chromecast.

When using a Chromecast (Audio) device, the current track ends, the next track is then uploaded to the Chromecast device, and the music then begins, which results in a several second delay. It does not appear that the next track is queued up for playing while the current track is playing as is done when not using Chromecast.

Can this be remedied?

Thanks,
Dennis

Thank you sooooo much! I am using Media Monkey again on my android devices specifically because of this feature! You guys rock! Keep making the full featured media player and try to keep it lite! \m/

Now that there is an audio only version of chromecast, can this be re-assessed? Enabling MM to be my primary home music player is a goal I have not yet been able to accomplish.

MMA already supports Chromecast; or are you asking about a specific feature in Chromecast support?

To clarify Lowlander's point: chromecast support in MMA is for both Audio Chromecast and Video Chromecast--both work correctly in our environment. What is the problem that you're experiencing with audio chromecast devices?
