Disadvantages of portable mode?

Installing mediamonkey on a new windows 10 machine and have searched in vain to find a discussion of advantages/disadvantages of installing in portable mode. In the past, I've sometimes installed beta which used to require portable mode installation. (My understanding is this is no longer the case, but it looks like alpha is to be installed in this way.)

I'd very much appreciate it if someone could elucidate or point me to a resource.

You'll loose features that require Windows integration (like Service and Taskbar Player), but otherwise it runs in the same way (and is portable).

What do you mean by loosing taskbar player? I run portable and have taskbar player.
Do you mean if you are not using it on a desktop it was installed on?

Hi,
Lowlander meant on Right click on Taskbar -> toolbars -> Mediamonkey player. and you can't minimize to MicroPlayer.
