Re: What should artist art work look like?
I think that your tutorial, or the forum config, is broken.
ie. can you see this image?
I can't see the image in preview.
Here is how I added the image to this post, ie. following your tutorial:
Code: Select all

Want a dark skin for MM5? This is the one that works best for me .. elegant, compact & clear.
Re: What should artist art work look like?
My tutorial do not show DropBox which do not allow direct access to image, but renders page and thus the reason why you can't attach image directly but you need to copy/paste link.
eg. https://www.dropbox.com/s/4gxksehjtvt05 ... 0cream.png

Re: What should artist art work look like?
OK, I only use Dropbox, so didn't know that the img tag worked OK with other services.
But maybe you didn't notice that you were posting your tutorial as an answer to the OP, who had specifically said that he was going to use Dropbox.

Re: What should artist art work look like?
Seems that DropBox works too, but you need to click the link at first > right-click > copy image address and then put the address like this (so it is a bit complicated):

Re: What should artist art work look like?
Thanks, I will analyze it and try to find the problem.willyvds wrote: ↑Thu Jan 31, 2019 12:52 pm https://www.dropbox.com/sh/qnonzi6b2dfn ... ae5ea?dl=0

Re: What should artist art work look like?
I'm not quite sure if I should resend the pictures...
But I am learning about the way MM finds the pictures. I think it is as follows.
The issue happens while I am still in the process of finding all artist artwork. For the artists that are already done, I don't see issues. So that makes me confident that in regular usage, artist artwork will work fine. So the problem I bring forward in this topic is related to the initial phase when you are collecting the artist artwork.
When MM encounters a picture which is somehow "difficult" is stops searching. If I then manually do something to make it progress, some of the pictures get wrong (sometimes). However, as far as I know, it is automatically corrected later.
For example: the first picture for the artist "Ora Sittner" is somehow "difficult".

Another "difficult" one which gives a "broken link": "orchestre et choeurs du théâtre de la monnaie"
Re: What should artist art work look like?
willyvds: thanks for additional info. I have downloaded PPTX with images, no need to upload again.

Re: What should artist art work look like?
Great, thanks.
I would also prefer MM to keep searching missing artist artwork, not just the artists that are visible on the screen.
For larger collections it is annoying that you have to scroll manually through the whole alphabet.
Is this a deliberate choice? In that case I suggest you reconsider it.

Re: What should artist art work look like?
It is deliberate choice, because services like Discogs, where most relevant images are found, have limitations of queries per IP per minute. So MM searches only images, which are needed for current display, to avoid ban of the whole IP. This is why the search is also quite slow, they allow only limited number of queries and more queries in a minute would lead to IP ban.willyvds wrote: ↑Fri Feb 01, 2019 4:15 pm Great, thanks.

Re: What should artist art work look like?
OK, I understand. Still, maybe it is possible to continue the lookup at a very low pace.
