Windows 10, Track Title Truncated

Post by Evidea II »

Apologies if this has been answered before; the search function doesn't seem to be working for me.

When I rip a CD as MP3, the Title listed as viewed in Windows File Explorer is complete. When I rip a CD as FLAC, it appears the Title, or at least how it displays in Windows File Explorer, is limited to 26 characters.

As an example, a song title from Adrian Belew's Desire of the Rhino King.

Title for MP3 is the complete 'Joan Miro's Procession Through The Insides Of A Purple Antelope Across A Sea Of Tuna Fish'.

Title for FLAC is 'Joan Miro's Procession Thr'.

To clarify, this is only for the Title field, not the Name field.

Can this be modified? Thank you in advance for any help that can be provided.

Start with updating to the latest, 4.1.24: https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewt ... f=3&t=8811

Thank you for the suggestion. I have upgraded to 4.1.124.1883. Unfortunately, the issue persists; I have re-ripped several CDs in FLAC format, and the Title field as displayed in File Explorer is still limited to 26 characters, whereas in MP3 format it displays the entire 26+ characters.

Hi,
I can't replicate as seen in this picture:
Image

Can you please do this test:
1. Copy one of FLAC files to c:\TestFLAC
2. Use MMW My computer tree node to read file and see if Title is truncated
3. Open Properties of c:\TestFLAC folder -> Customize -> Change to Music files
4. Check is Title is truncated in both explorer and in Details Panel

If Yes, please upload that sample file to some sharing service like dropbox, one drive, google drive, ... and send me Direct DL link to PM so that I can check it for non standard fields and metadata?
Best regards,

it took me a few days to get everything put together.

I have a sample file. The title looks fine in MMW, but is truncated in both Windows Explorer and under the Details tab in Properties.

I am not able to PM you. When I attempted to, I received this message: "We are sorry, but you are not authorised to use this feature. You may have just registered here and may need to participate more in discussions to be able to use this feature." I registered last week to post this thread. Perhaps if you PM'd me, I could reply.

Thank you for your time and effort.
