Future Skin compatiblilty

Postby DaledeSilva » Fri Nov 10, 2006 12:55 am

Hello.

I'm considering creating a theme / skin for media monkey and before I start I'm just wondering about MM v3.0

will there be changes to the interface and how will they affect skinng? - what might the new possibilities be and how might the old existing skins be affected?

Dale.

Most changes to MM skining is regarding Player, so if you want to make Forms, Background, and Colors you can do that without a problem, so if something is changed it will be no problem to change after MM 3.0 Beta is released.

thanks guys...
I was jumping the gun a bit though.. wont have time for a little while to do something about it...

if most changes are to the player.. does this mean that it's no longer going to use winamp skins? - I assume it'll still be compatible with winamps plugins though...?

Yes, skins will remain compatible, but not that player part that's currently based on WinAmp 2 skins. Certainly, WinAmp plug-ins will be still supported.

Can't wait for a better skin module. What about a closed tester-community? 8)
