Does this script differ in any significant manner to the Magic Nodes solution?
The only difference I can see is that the album image is now a blue disc (which I quite like).
Code: Select all
Album Artist|shortcut:Ctrl+F8|child of:artist\<Album Artist>\<Album|Sort by:max(year)>

Now featuring 'Get Album Artists' Homepage.... so now it's a bit different to Magic Nodes anyways....
First click Album Artist's name, then an Album, then the Album Artist's Name again, and the Main Track Window will contain the Official Homepage of the Album Artist... Based on Google's I feel Lucky feature

Nice touch, though, since Google isn't always right 100% of the time, specially with lesser known acts... how hard would it be to import an option type of setting for this script, one that could pull the AlbumArtistID# (I think MM gives them one, not too familiar with MM's workings yet) and then bring up a window where you could select a radio button on "Google Search" or "Custom" with Custom allowing you to enter the address for the Artist's official site.
This could help, namely with smaller acts that art too easily found on Google (or maybe they don't have a 'official' site and you wanna set it to something else), then, when you click the Artist node, it'd call the option sheet and either load the URL from the settings, or ask Google.
What cha think? Possible? Not worth the time? Impossible?

Thanks bbuchi
Mizery_Made. Here's a beta with that editable home page stuff.
Install Script v2.30 Beta (Added custom URLs) Open zip, and just double click the install file.
Haven't had enough time to test it in all sorts of situations, but it's here if you want to give it a go.
If you right click an Album Artist's name, in the node, you'll see 'Artist's Homepage. Click it, and you'll get a chance to write a custom homepage for this Artist, and it will be used instead of the Google Lucky feature.
The info is stored in the Comment field of the Artist, that is not commonly used. You only find it by right clicking in the Artists node, > properties. As a rule this home page should start with http:// as the script expect that before being able to use it instead of the Google feature.
The url is stored as the first line in the artists comment field. Something to try out anyways... I have to get back to gardening....
I know at this point that the dialog where you can put in the URL can need some refinement.
