Removing Splash Screen

Postby julzcompufreek » Sat Aug 28, 2004 12:08 am

Hi,
I was wondering if there was a way to disable the splash screen that comes up on startup.
I know that it has legal info on it and serves a purpose in marketing but if your like me and use MM all the time, it can get annoying when the splash screen comes up each time you start up MM.
I'd just like my work to be a little bit faster.

Thanks,

Julian AKA

Please take time to read the "readme" file...

4. Advanced Configuration

a) Command line options
A number of flags can be set when running MediaMonkey from the command line:
/NoSplash - don't show splash screen when starting MediaMonkey
/Next - play files after the current track
/Add - add files to the Now Playing queue

I'm not sure, but generally programs don't get faster without splashscreen. A splashscreen serves to inform that the program is loading. Without a splashscreen the user wouldn't see anything till everything is loaded and program itself can be displayed.

Yes.. it can get a little faster.. but indeed mm doesn't connect to a remote db nor it takes long to startup.. i see splash a distraction more than a feature, but all programers (including me) likes to make one

Thanks!

WOW!

I had no idea this was possible. This is very good. Is there online updated version of the readme listing all the advance features?

Thanks for the info.

To fracl123

unless i am mistaken (it seemed to work for me) right click on your shortcut to mediamonkey that you always use, and type are the file location "/NoSplash" and that will stop it from showing. no need to go into regedit.

it should show something like:

Target>> "C:\Program Files\MediaMonkey\MediaMonkey.exe" /NoSplash

Hi,

Actually i think you can do this by a configuration in a shortcut to mediamonkey.
