Still doesn't work :-(

- Saved iphone.dll of Jiri in MM plugins directory.
- Connected Iphone, started MM.
- MM recognizes Iphone (just the icon, no " Iphone of Erik" name menioned)
- Selected all files of one album in MM
- Right Click, send to Iphone
- Saw a copy message for 1 second, but actually nothing happens

Jiri, any idea why it works with you (only?)

Thanks!
Erik

OK, I deleted all of my music and then re-synched the list (~1200 files). If I explore the iPod in the tree, I all tracks are accounted for.

If I double-click a track in the iPod track list, MM plays 0.0 sec of each of that song and each of the remaining 1200. The player rifles through them, flashing song titles, artists, and kbps stats at me.

The Music Library on the iPod shows "no content".

Aah, the joys of beta testing

Last update for today I think:

Was able to sync 10 files at a time, then 20, then 40, 80, and after each batch the ipod came back to the main screen and things seemed allright.

i then tried to sync a batch of 105 files. The sync screen hung up, I now have what appears to be a polluted library with multiple instances of the same artists, albums, etc. It looks like those last 105 files will not play. Don't know if that helps or not but if you stay below 80 file batches it seems ok. I think I need to wipe and start over again.

I dont think it has to do with the # of files, I have been doing single albums at a time. Most times it syncs with not issue, but every once in a while it hangs up and the phone never comes out of the sync screen. Once this happens I lose everything.

It appears to me there is a issue with the closing of the syncing with corrupts the library, but like I stated before happy to just have something.
If you need any more input let me know

Yes I have seen this as well the sync does not stop and then database seems to lose all content. The files are still on the phone but itunes/iphone can not see or find them, You can go around this by simply adding another song this seems to cure the lost content because iphone will see all the files after that new sync. Also All my videos are deleted when I sync /send files via MM and It will not play songs from iphone in MM. But Hey something is working just needs the kinks worked out.

The name of the dll suggests it's for iPhones only? Might explain why iPods don't work.

No, the iPhone_dll works fine with the iPod Touch too. I deleted all tracks before i upgraded my Ipod to OS3. Then i installed the dll in the scripts directory. The iPod is reconized, but i have two entrys in the tree - both with the name iPod. If i click the first, the Monkey is telling me that this Version is not able to write... The second entry works. I set up Synchronizing, and now my whole collection is back on my iPod.
Only the Playcount-Synchronization doesn't work for me - but that didn't worked before the update neither.

Good n*ight,
and THX jiri

Jiri,

Excellent progress and a great first beta! Thanks for sharing!

Agree with njkode. Have tried lots of playlists of varying sizes. Sometimes little ones work. Sometimes big ones work. But when one of them doesn't work whole library on ipod touch is hosed.

Note: "Doesn't Work" = "Sync in Progress" forever.

Thanks!

Great work Jiri, much quicker turnaround with this one than with the 1.0 to 2.0

Initial tests.

Ipod touch with firmware 3.0 sync playlists fine differing sizes all work. Album art is fine

Iphone 3GS with 3.0.1 Sync of songs works fine no album art on any tracks.

Restored the iphone to virgin and re tried same result.

Did notice the following

Ipod touch shows up as "My ipod" in the list as it should

Iphone shows up in the list with no name next to it.

Hope this helps the beta process along

Upgraded to 3.0 tonight and synced for the first time with updated plugin, on first glance everything seems good - no problems with playlist sync or auto-conversion - all album art matches up well, etc.

I did notice that it seems the lyrics are missing for all tracks though they are present in the track tags, but that is minor.

Awesome, it worked for me. [Ipod Touch 3.0]

Downloaded the plugin, dragged it over to the plugin folder in MM program file, and it didn't work at first (tried to sync entire playlist)
Then I tried again with 1 song, worked perfectly, and now im syncing my entire library.

Thanks Jiri and all the MM developers!

Songs disappear after syncing with MM.
but they appear again after turning on Itunes and let it detect the iphone.
and everything else works great!!

Update:

I got it to work.

First delete ALL the music off of your ipod. This includes podcasts.
Start small. I tried the full sync and it failed every time it was the first one. If I started with a small sync (35 songs) then the full sync worked after that every time.
Any error hangs the ipod in sync mode. I had a couple of songs that the conversion fails on. (variable bit rate wma's) anyways these always failed and hung the ipod. I took them out of the list and it worked every time.

It still shows 2 ipods in the list but I can live with that for now.
