So, here is a better mock up.
I added context menus, showing options that could be enabled/disabled.

What do you think?

EvilLyrics? Naaaahhhhhh

I've used Evil Lyrics since lot of time with winamp. It has really few lyrics, believe me, and expecially commercial stuff. Not a great plugin indeed.
Try LeosLyrics instead. It works better, better integrated with winamp and huge database for every genres of music. They are open to collaborations, so MM staff can work with them to prepare a well integrated plugind for MM.

Believe me, that lyric database is better than the evil lyrics one. I've tagged with it songs from industrial, goth, electro, synthpop, futurepop, various metal, folk, classic rock and so on.
Dope Stars Inc., just to do an example, just released the first CD, LeosLyrics already had the lyrics.

M staff should try to use it.

NightInAgharta, are you sure you've used the actual EvilLyrics "application" (not just the website lyrics available)? It pulls from hundreds of lyrics databases. I pull down Christian Music lyrics using it all the time and Christian lyrics are some of the hardest to find on the internet.

Jiri and the other devs, the "browser" interface I am working on will also be incorporating the lyrics. One of the aspects I will be developing is to have the entire interface change to the currently playing song to display album art, lyrics, and other related major information. If the dev team can add it into the main interface as suggested, that will give everyone two ways to approach it.

Thanks!

hmm, this is kind of off-topic but i was wondering if anyone knows where i can find a program that downloads the lyrics to the actual tag of the song en masse. this would be a helpful program if this integrated lyrics pane becomes a reality.

Evil Lyrics has a plugin that will do this.

I will try it.

Hope it will work better because LeosLyrics doesn't work in MM and i'm still looking for a good lyrics finder.

My fault. EvilLyrics is good enough, also if i like more the way LeosLyrics returns a list of near results when it doesn't find a lyric matching the artist/title searched. EvilLyrics instead needs to press the "next result" button and often gives strange results (i.e. weird web pages).
However it's ok.

I'm using MiniLyrics for my stuff. It seems to be roughly the same and works as a plugin with MM. There's an option to embed lyrics to the mp3, but sadly no option to view them myself in Media Monkey.

I'd love to see the mock up a reality !!!

This is exactly what I am looking for, as whats the point of having Lyrics in a MP3 if its not easily viewable (other than for searching)

Good luck with it, looking forward to seeing it in the future :)

i don't know it has its place but it is not able to be as good as karafun.

where you can make your own karaoke files with images and moving words and all kinds of stuff,

karafun.com is the best karaoke player and editor on the market.

Media Monkey is not designed to offer karaoke functionality, but if that was a desire I suggest you post it in the Wishlist topic.

Will a lyrics view like the mock up be in 2.5? it's kinda annoying having to go into the track to get lyrics.

Is there any chance that .lrc lyrics will be viewable in MM?
