Not at all. This is a suggestion for the tree UI, letting the user see all descendent tracks upon one click. The other is a suggestion for an Auto-playlist criteria - requiring much more setup, but persisting.Peke wrote:Duplicate of http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=5418
Both will accomplish that. The benefit of what Peke linked is that you can reference that playlist and use it for syncing while still making it optional.Chrisjj wrote:I need a playlist containing all tracks in a given playlist sub-tree.
Peke, the wish I filed (All node) is not the wish that begun this topic (Super playlist) and which corresponds to your feature suggestion, and is very different from it. I think you must have confused the two - I apologise for not creating a separate thread for tha All node wish.Peke wrote:Not sure that I understand you correctly then, can you elaborate little bit more as they look same requests for me.
Incorrect. The wish I filed in Mantis will not accomplish that. It will merely allow all descendants to show in the tracklist - not at other references to the play list e.g. Auto-playlist, Auto-sync list.Lowlander wrote:Both will accomplish that.Chrisjj wrote:I need a playlist containing all tracks in a given playlist sub-tree.
Then not a duplicate.nohitter151 wrote:Different means...
No.nohitter151 wrote:...to achieve the same end.
The end result is for a parent playlist to show all tracks of sub-playlists grouped together. Whether it's in an "All" node or in a top level playlist is not important to the request.chrisjj wrote:No.nohitter151 wrote:...to achieve the same end.
Incorrect. It is extremely important to my request. The All node I request will provide one-click display of all tracks of any playlist just as the All node does currently for Library nodes. Peke's auto-playlist criteria will not.nohitter151 wrote:Whether it's in an "All" node or in a top level playlist is not important to the request.
Yes, it will. Maybe you don't understand his request.chrisjj wrote:Incorrect. It is extremely important to my request. The All node I request will provide one-click display of all tracks of any playlist just as the All node does currently for Library nodes. Peke's auto-playlist criteria will not.
I understand Peke's request requires the user to add an autoplaylist for every parent playlist for which he requires to view all tracks. If you can show how he can do that in one ciick, please do.nohitter151 wrote:Yes, it will. No, it is to add autoplaylist critera so that the autoplaylist, which is a parent of other playlists, contains all sub-playlists. It will require only one click to view this playlist after its creation.chrisjj wrote:I understand Peke's request requires the user to add an autoplaylist for every parent playlist for which he requires to view all tracks. Then that's yes, not no.nohitter151 wrote:No, it is to add autoplaylist critera so that the autoplaylist, which is a parent of other playlists, contains all sub-playlists.
Well, I am really glad no MM designer thought that a good substitute for the All nodes already present in the tree. What a PITA it would have been for the user to have to create an auto-playlist for each one.nohitter151 wrote:It will require only one click to view this playlist after its creation.
