I tried it again in Windows 7 instead of XP with the same result.

The /Portable/MediaMonkey.ini file was created today and is 22KB.

The C:\Users\Mark\AppData\Local\MediaMonkey\MediaMonkey.ini file was created on 1/05/12 and is 19KB.

Both contain the line;

DBName=\\QNAP-NAS210\Qmultimedia\Media Monkey\MM.DB

I am absolutely sure I checked Portable Installation.

I re-revised it again and I think I found it.

It takes the very old MediaMonkey.ini from MM3 that used to be located in
C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\MediaMonkey\MediaMonkey.ini

i.e. in the Local directory.

Could you confirm my test?

I installed build 1626 and this issue seems to have been resolved. The Welcome Wizard is shown (as expected).
