Is there any update on this feature request? I've been using MMA pro for podcasts only for years now. I'm surprised variable speed playback was never added. It seems like a standard feature of just about every audio app.

Please also remember that silence/gap removal is also an important option.

It's very strange to be listening to a lecture at 2.5x speed and then have full 1 second or longer gaps of silence.

Also I have a related wishlist feature that may be easier to consider upfront than to go back and change later.

For podcasts, it would be nice if playback speed was saved as a preference "per subscription/podcast", rather than a global setting. Of course a global default would also be a helpful start. The reason I bring this up is that if you listen to huge variety of podcasts like me, some people are already fast talkers, some slow, etc.

I'm not as familiar with listening to audiobooks so I can't come up with an equivalent example, sorry.

Make the speed customisable please (eg 1.08 for example)

Please add variable speed. I currently use MM to sync my audiobooks then use Smart AudioBook to listen to them. It would be nice to have to use only one app.

I forgot to add that I use another app to download Podcast that has variable speed. If there was MM variable speed I could use one app instead of three. Please add variable speed!

Hi, been using MediaMonkey since about 2008, but this made me finally decide to make an account here.

I noticed that since this post, speed controls have been added to the beta of MMW. Is there any chance this gets an issue created soon for Android? I am especially interested in using this with Android Auto. On the bright side, I am trying out that audiobook app mentioned earlier, but I'd much rather use MediaMonkey for all synced audio.

We will review and prioritize new features in MMA after next stable is released and see what else needs to be done in order that MMW can correctly sync Speed information which MMA can interpret and act apron it.

Not sure if I am missing something, but why would anything need to be synced for speed information? Surely you could just adjust the playback speed with extra speed control buttons exposed when playing media with the (automatically applied) "Playlist" genre tag? Perhaps with a "default podcast speed" option? Unless you mean syncing a default playback speed per podcast, which would be cool but slightly more complicated.

On that note, is MM hiring more developers? (I mean I am going to look now so ignore the stupid question if there's a "careers" page on the main website.) If I worked there, I'd be tempted to work on features like this on my personal time.

Edit: Not that I am implying anyone should have to, I just tend to spend some personal time on things I'm told there's "not enough time" to dedicate to, when I feel strongly enough about it (or want said feature for myself!)

25% speed difference is a big step.
General used speeds would probably be; 0.5 - 0.6 - 0.7 - 0.8 - 0.9x

Still greatly desired.
