Your graphics card doesn't support the program. Try to update the drivers. If that doesn't work, you're out of luck.

What kind of processor do you have on your computer and how many albums are in your library? If you have a slow computer and a large library, it might take a while to retrieve the album info from MediaMonkey. Also, can you completely shutdown MediaMonkey and MonkeyFlow, and then post the contents of your log file? There is some information missing in your log file, which only gets printed after all the album info has been retrieved.

I have a 1.6 ghz core duo with 1gb ram and integrated graphics running windows xp sp2. 1191 albums
I let media monkey for more than an hour with monkey flow showing the same blue screen with the animation saying initializing monkeyflow.
I will try to let it more tomorrow to load the albums.
anyway the log file is the same even after I close media monkey completely

and the cache folder is empty
is there any requirement (like JAVA or net framework...etc?)
i have to say that prettypictures and monkey rok are working smoothly
MOnkeyFLow behaves like it can not read from the files. Must say that i have all music in mp3 format with embedded art and no protected files at all.
If you want some more info just tell me. thanks
EDIT: log changed a little

It might be hanging while trying to connect to the MediaMonkey COM server. Are you running MediaMonkey using administrator privileges? Also, can you make sure all
winviz.exe processes are shutdown before starting MediaMonkey. I really don't know what else could be going wrong.

I am using MM as administrator
I closed all winwviz.exe and monkeyflow.exe processes from task manager
This is the same behaviour that i got since the first release beta1
it is vey strange since i see I am the only one who has this problem
TOmorrow I will try installing monkeyflow to my media center pc to see if it works.
Thanks for your help anyway
Blank covers

Hi! This is my first time posting in this forum. I've been using mediamonkey for long time, with monkeyrock, prettypictures and some others plugins and scripts. Yesterday I discoveres Mediaflow, wich looks like the visulization complement that I was looking for my library, but even that it starts smoothly, all my covers are blank. No pictures in any of them. I'm using quite an old PC: WinXP, Intel Pentium M 1.86 GHz, 1gb RAM and a library of 6000 songs.
Any Ideas? I would love to be able to use the plugin. Thanks in advance.
PD: Sorry for my English.

I have the same problem like ermal. Initializing monkey flow shows up and nothing happens. No pictures are cached and no logfile is created. I do not have internal graphics and I run windows xp sp2 with admin rights. Any suggestions?

Hi,
great script, really adds to the mm experience, thanks.
just a couple of notes..
I've noticed that to resize the window, I have to exit and relaunch mm, am I missing something?
also is it possible to sort via album name or artist..... at the moment it seems to just be album artist, again have I missed something?
Thanks
Colin

Can you shutdown MediaMonkey then post the contents of your monkeyflow.log file? Do you have a ridiculously insane number of albums or really large album art? Does the memory usage shoot up immediately after starting MonkeyFlow, or is this after leaving it running for a while?
Here's the log:

As you can see, it's 2255 albums, although not all of them are complete. My album art rarely exceeds 600x600, 150kb.
I just restarted MediaMonkey, and the winviz memory usage is steadily climbing. It's gone up 35mb since I started typing this reply.

Just to echo/bump a few questions noted in the thread:
1. Is it/will it be possible to sort monkeyflow via anything other than album artist (e.g. sort by album, genre, etc) ? Better still, have monkeyflow only show albums for the selected node in the node tree (this would have to include magicnodes).
2. A nice feature would be to be able to somehow "flip" the album art image to reveal the rear art (on my PC these are labelled rear.jpg) - currently monkeyflow can only show the front cover; it is nice to see all the album art, but especially the rear.
3. When adjusting the volume using the scroll wheel after selecting an album, the monkeyflow continues to scroll instead of adjusting the volume. If you click on a track first then adjust the volume, it works. Can this bug be fixed?
Thanks!

I was actually able to recreate this behavior recently. It happened when I closed MM and started it again. MonkeyFlow just showed the initializing screen. I looked in my Task Manager and there were two MediaMonkey.exe processes. It seems the previous instance of MM didn't fully shutdown. This might cause some mix-up between the MM COM servers which causes problems for MonkeyFlow. Could this be the case for you? Do you just have more than one instance of MediaMonkey.exe running?

MonkeyFlow should resize when the docking panel is resized. If you turn fullscreen on/off, does it resize properly inside the docking panel?

When you have time can you try running the external version of MonkeyFlow and see if it exhibits the same problem?

The external version holds right around 48mb, like you were seeing. The embedded version just keeps climbing - I can run them both parallel and it's pretty obvious:
