I will stop now sending logs until you request more ;-)
Hope there was a hint inside one of them.

Chris

Ok thank you for these logs. I have fixed unnecessary launching of syncs. So it should not drain your battery so much but it still fails to stop. I cannot replicate it but I have a special build for you to debug it. I will send it to you via email.

Only wanted to let you know that I got the file and I'm already testing this version.
Hope I can give you some feedback tonight.

Good news...
No MMA Application running after device boot.
Battery consumption percentage is below 10% (even when playing music).

Regarding 'fail to stop':
If I pause the music playback and leave MMA in the background it
does not disappears from the notification area, the list of active apps, nor the app switcher
for a long time (longer than half an hour).

Then 'suddenly' (don't know what causes this) it
- disappears from the notification area
- disappears from the list of active apps
- BUT is still shown in the app switcher

Is this how it should be?
If not, on which occasion should I provide a log?

Best regards
Chris

so far, so good :)

I just noticed that it doesn't take always as long as over half an hour.
In quite a few cases it only takes about 5 minutes to reach this state:
- disappears from the notification area
- disappears from the list of active apps
- BUT is still shown in the app switcher

Yes... this is how it should be. App switcher is not a good indicator. It has all recently used apps. It should disappear after the time set in Options->Show in notification bar. And mma is terminted when it disappears from list of active apps. So I thought that it remains there too.

Please note that we fixed a bug that was related. MMA failed to stop after usb sync. This is fixed in build 217 and newer.

Please let me know in case of any issues..i.e. it remains in list of active apps.

Heavy drain on battery

Just installed the latest version of MMA (MMA Pro 1.0.5/MMA Beta 1.0.4.0226) on my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and noticed a drastic drop in battery life (to the point that I've had to uninstall MMA). The phone is new (purchased 05-Jan-14) and the battery was typically dropping to the 20% level after about 17 hours of use and being off the charger. I am not currently syncing it to any media libraries hosted on a PC and I currently have no media on my mobile device. From the time I installed the app until the time I removed it (a period of about 4.5 hours) the little "hourglass" in the upper right corner circled continuously and my battery life dropped from ~71% (initial installation) to ~31%. As you can see, battery usage for MMA during this same period went from not registering to a whopping 34% by the time I uninstalled. I was not using MMA at all during this period and did not have any of the MMA widgets up on any of my screens. I submitted a log with the ID number BNPRKW2IVE. Let me know if I can provide any additional information that might help determine what was going on. As I work in construction and don't have easy access to a place to recharge I can't keep it installed constantly (I need my phone :D) but I'll do what I can to help.

PS - I actually installed it yesterday and eventually got a low battery warning. When I checked the battery usage screen MMA was at the top with 72% over what was (roughly) an 11 hour period since being removed from the charger at 100%. I thought I had just screwed something up and uninstalled until I had more time to look at things but as far as I can tell I'm not doing anything wrong.

EDIT - Thanks for the move Lowlander - wasn't sure if I should post in here as the last response was almost a month ago.

Agreed. I even went so far as to uncheck all the monitored folders so that it essentially had no pointer as to where it should be looking and the hourglass still kept going. The first night I installed it the hourglass spun from the time I installed it until I took my phone off the charger 6 and a half hours later when I got up to go to work.

umm? i don't see it doing that on my motorola and i don't see anyone else posting they have the same issue, they might have under a different title?
but this makes me wonder if your device is in need of firmware update.
or maybe there is some other program you have on the device that is messing with mma? did you also just install any other new programs? do you have any junk file cleaners on your device. i use the free avg cleaner app. works great in getting rid of files left in a cache created by some free app you removed that the app left files in.
i'm hopeful it is just something simple like that. 8)

Sent a new log (WTMZWF803X) after installing the updated APK version (1.0.4.0227) sent to me. A scan did not happen automatically this time - I had to go into the options menu and manually start the scan. Once I started it though, the behavior seems to be the same - the hourglass starts spinning and just keeps going. Thanks for looking into this!

@rovingcowboy - the last app I installed before MMA was a radar app and that was about 2 weeks ago. according to the response I received from the devs I have a genuine bonafide bug on my hands :-(
