but somehow I cannot install the scrobbler but the auto-dj

I downloaded last.fm_DJ_2.0.0.23.zip and last.fm-scrobbler_1.0.1.12.zip

When I extract the files from the zip I find:
scrobbler:
  • app.ico
    gen_lastfmscrobbler.dll
    ínstall.ini
    last.fm dj.mmip
    lastfmoptions.vbs
autodj:
  • app.ico
    install.ini
    install.vbs
    lastfm_dj.vbs
    uninstall.ini
    uninstall.vbs
The only "clickable" file is the mmip file from the scrobble archive. But as the name suggests it installs the autodj-script but no scrobbler. The option field in the extensions menu is not clickable either.

What am I missing?

I use MM3.0.2 though I don't know where to get the more actual version. I use Vista but run MM as admin.

Sometimes the DJ cannot find the artist at all.

I used the standard settings i think: 50 % and 60 min.

I cannot believe last.fm cannot find nothing in my media monkey library with 6700 songs.

Do I need an account and library at Last.fm or something like that?
Or could my firewall settings or something be to restrictive?
hello i am having the same problem, and after digging through the thread i didn't see answer ? any updates ?

i did make an account @ last fm, but i did not see any "upload library function"

i have 3.5k mp3s

Although I am currently not using the Auto-DJ through last.fm, it is working. There is no need and no possibility to upload your music library to last.fm. I have no idea what your music library looks like but a lib of 3500 songs sounds like a small library to me, so any feed coming from last.fm might produce a lot of tracks you don't have in your library. I don't see how creating a last.fm account would solve this, because I have an account and I haven't played all my songs through last.fm yet.

hi folks...
im wondering if the file at the beginning of this thread

http://www.mediamonkey.com/beta/Last.fm ... .1.12.mmip

is still the latest version? (is there any way other than going through the 22 other pages of finding out? Does that sound lazy? it is just that for the beta for the new MM app, the update is always at the end, but not here apparently....)

I'm having a installation error with that version (on XP)

thanks for swift reply!

so my problem is a real one. I see a few people have had installation issues around having to "run as Administrator".

I managed to do that, but of course when i do, it opens a new instance of MM which does not have my library / license etc in it. They when i click to install, it opens and tries to install in the old version of MM (which is the one in which it won't install)

I wonder is there any way around this...?

Do you have under Tools -> Options -> General, 'Allow just one instance of MediaMonkey' checked?

I don't know then. Usually MM only has to be run as admin on Vista, XP doesn't usually have these problems. If you still want to scrobble you can check my sig for alternate options.

nohitter151's Last.fm option

I just stumbled on his list of 3 last.fm options, installed the plug in for option 1, the old winamp plugin, and it works perfectly. I highly recommend it to anyone who got sick of having to deal with the upgrade window or couldn't get the beta MM plugin to work.

Hi.
I've just installed the latest version of MM (3.0.3.1183)
It's running perfectly on windows vista SP1, except that i just can't get the previously mentioned plug-ins to work at all.

Any help?

Thanks

I have tried three scripts with the latest beta of mm3 and I can't get any of them to work.
[...]
2. Last.fmDJ. Installs fine, I configure it as instructed in first post, but get a .vbs-error when it says "last.fm query". The error message is "no correspondanse between types: CInt. File ... lastfm_DJ.vbs, line 540, column 8"[...]
I'd the same problem with this script (i'm french, and we use the comma, instead of the dot, to separate decimals.. it's maybe the problem).
I've simply deleted from the line 537 of the {app}\Scripts\Auto\LastFM_DJ.vbs

Code: Select all

    Case 1

      For Each XElmnt In xmlDoc.getElementsByTagName("artist")
        If CInt(XElmnt.ChildNodes.Item(2).Text) > MinMatch Then
          XDict.Add i, XElmnt.ChildNodes.Item(0).Text
        End If
        i = i + 1
        TimerLoop = 0
      Next
And it's now working(?? I mean there is no bug alert, but do the program still able to work?)

I can't configure it. When I press config no window shows up, but I see the plain old MediaMonkey window without the config menu or the main plugin window. If I alt tab, then back again, I get to the main plugin window. What do I do?

Edit: I have 3.02 on XP 64.
