I don't know if this is the proper place to ask this, but I have a small Vista-related problem:

I can get Minilyrics and the embedder to work together only if I set MM to run as administrator. So if I do that it works great. However, if I run it as administrator, then FoxyTunes, the Firefox-based controls for media players doesn't work with MM. Usually it will recognize what song is playing/paused and there is a button on it to open MM if it is closed which also does not work if I have MM set as run as admin.

If I don't run MM as administrator, FoxyTunes will work but Minilyrics will not load up when I open it. I was wondering if anyone knew why this was happening or any way to get them both to work at the same time.

Thanks

Hello does somebody know what's the latest build of minilyrics known to work well with the embedder?

I'm on 6.0.3672 beta2 and the lyrics doesn't resize properly. Maybe newer versions fix that?

Indeed it works.

I also found where my problem was:
I forgot to uncheck "Auto adjust window width with lyrics" in the Lyrics Display Options Panel.

Minilyrics is awesome, all my friends love it and ask me where i found it.

I noticed the same thing, that mini-lyrics was set to save the lyrics to the tag, but then I could not find the lyrics in the tag. And the Lyrics and Comments Viewer I installed, says there are no tags.

I am new to all this so my ignorant question is this. If mini lyrics prefers synchronized .lrc files and MM/Lyric Viewer only see unsynchronized tags, is there a point in having both? I thought they were to complement each other.

I like all the options mini lyrics provides, but if I have to do twice the work for MM to save the tags, why bother. Or am I totally missing something?

I also notice that mini lyrics is saving copies of the lyrics to the C\Lyrics folder. Is that normal even if I have selected to save in the MP3?

Thank you all for your help. I'm sure I'll get the handle on this stuff one of these days. I just can't seem to find the answers I need.

I save the lyrics to both

Embedded ID3v2 Unsynchronized and
Embedded ID3v2 Synchronized

You have to understand that MediaMonkey can't natively display Embedded ID3v2 Synchronized, only Embedded ID3v2 Unsynchronized. If you save both to the mp3 file, Minilyrics will display the ID3v2 Synchronized lyrics and MediaMonkey will still have the Embedded ID3v2 Unsynchronized in the database and tags.

Regardless of your settings of where to save the file, Minilyrics has to save a copy of the .lrc file to the computer first, since it's downloading that file from the internet. If you don't want the files there, just delete them periodically.

Lastly, MediaMonkey will only display the Embedded ID3v2 Unsynchronized lyrics after the tracks have been rescanned (since that's the only way it can tell that another program has made a change to the mp3 file. So, you can either enable File Monitoring (Tools | Options | File monitoring) for your library, or you can just use "File | Add/rescan tracks to the library..." to rescan the files.

First of all, I really like program. I am having more fun than one person should be able to have.

I am having a bit of trouble though. I've gone through the set up many times to see if I have everything right and I think I do. I have the box checked to show Artist, Album and Title, but none of these show up unless they have a time stamp.

Whenever I shut down MM, the skin I had goes away and in the embedded area is a blank box. I have to go into preferences and click a few skins before mine comes back. And then the font colors aren't the same and I have to change them back.

I've got to be missing something and could really use some insight.
Thank you in advance.

Regarding album, artist, title: I'm not sure what that feature is supposed to do as it has never showed the album, artist, or title for me.

Regarding skin: are you using the latest version? I haven't had that problem w/ the latest version.

I have version 6.1.3723, which I think is the latest.

I am still using the unregistered/trial version as I still want to see if it is what I want. Could that be the problem?
I'm guessing another week or so of using it and making a nusance of myself on this forum, I'll buy it.

Strange. I do have the registered version so perhaps that's it, though I doubt it. You could email the developer to get a real answer: http://www.crintsoft.com/contactus.htm

One more question as I work with this.

When the Lyrics Editor is open and I'm making modifications to lyrics and I have to click somewhere outside the Editor, it disappears. Then I have to right click on icon to uncheck the Editor, right click again to get it back.

Any idea how to get around that?

Right click on the Lyrics editor Titlebar and check "Always on Top"

BTW, glad to see that you're (hopefully!) timestamping your own lyrics! I hope you're uploading them so others can benefit :)

I looked at the setting for the Lyrics Editor and it was already "Always on Top". That seems to have worked for now. Thank you. Then I went into preferences and checked it there also. When I did, MiniLyrics became unEmbedded so I had to resize them.

But, again today, I had the same problem I've had since I loaded MiniLyrics and the Embedder a week ago. Upon start up, the embedded lyrics window is in the right place, but only the lower right quarter of the actual lyrics is seen in the upper left. It's like the whole lyrics window has moved to the Pacific NorthWest of my Embedded window (am I using the right terminology). I then have to open preferences, and select different skins until one finally resynchs.

I have been able to timestamp my own lyrics, which has been fun. I will have to learn how to upload them. A lot of the lyrics so far have been in text form, so I will be able to contribute the synchronized ones.

thank you
