I sort of have one idea, which is really your idea expanded: The inner prev./next arrow on the buttons should stay the same but the outer one could go the whole way around the inner one, so it would still stay the same distance away (from the inner one) the whole way round, and it would have the same thickness... I'm not sure if you understand what I mean but... um... You will eventually

Btw: With your poll, what if people think its ugly and the size is bad??

I had that option too actually, but it didn't get with it when I posted it and there's no solution on how to fix this myself. I'm sure that's because I didn't press update when I added this as the last options.

Could you give me a quick overview of what you want? Just the shape, don't mind the gradients. :-)

what i read blake is that you want a ring button around another round button. as in a button with in a button.

that is not possible with out transparent use of graphical
area used by the code that makes the button clickable.

in other words the code would have to say make a button
but leave the center 75% non active and unused by the button made by this code.

i don't think that is possible to do petrc might beable to tell you for sure, but i'd say no not able to be done.

Definable press-area is available with Alpha 4 and will be enhanced further to allow alpha-channel overlay.

- Added mini-player button with the system buttons.
- Fixed the four buttons.
- Fixed the next/prev-buttons.

What do you think?

I actually preferred to next/prev. arrows before these ones.

What I meant be the outer arrow wrapping around the inner arrow:

Excuse my messiness. The white is the arrows as you can probably tell.

I see what you mean and I tried it. It get's too big with that design. The point is that the should be a bit subtle in my opinion, or else it gets to messy.

Awwww
but aww
well can't you sort of make it smaller?

I'll try to, but at the same time I want it to be subtle in a way.

your theme style is almost verging on material made out of something semi-transulcent.. it looks nice.

I've always thought the prev and next buttons didn't suit the rest of the theme as well... I think the new shaped are a great improvement..

to make them blend in even more and also achieve a little bit more subtlety... one idea would be to try and make them look like they're 'behind' the translucent material a little.. eg, we're looking at them through slightly frosted glass..

Dale.

I'll see if I can get somewhere with that, but I don't know quite exactly what you want me to do.

Hi, Morten
I've been following the development of this baby since the beginning. And it's getting really good. I'm sure it will be a hit.

Now, let me do some good criticism, based on the image below:

Image

1 - I think additional buttons should follow the same style of the standard ones (minimize, maximize, close);
2 - These buttons are really good. But, what if you add some subtle glossy reflections, just like the Play/Pause button? IMO it would be even better...
3 - I know it's intentional, but I'd really like if Previous, Play/Pause and Next were vertically aligned. Maybe you could shrink Play/Pause a little too (Yes, I voted option 2 in the poll...). Of course, this is MY OWN opinion. Anyone can disagree at this point...
4 - I noticed you reduced the roundness of the corners. It's much better this way.
5 - I think these glyphs need some improvement, but I really don't know what to suggest... I'm just out of ideas...
6 - Just one question: will this be localized? Or will the string be hard coded in the skin?

That's it. Keep up this excellent work!
Cheers.

Thanks for a great review.

1) I disagree. Aero-style is this way, and I want to have it consistant this way. It will function as a switch button (with drop-down menu) making it possible to switch between normal skin, miniskin and microskin.

2) I will consider that.

3)I'll look into that.

4) What is better the first or second?

5) Of course. This is on top of my to-do list.

6) This isn't hard to localised. And yes, it will be localised.

No problem.

Oh, sorry. The second is better!
