Hi,

For some time now, discogs will only work on exact matches mostly. If an album has deluxe at the end, for example, it won't match. This also affects songs, though not all. But many aren't matched when they have extra text. And simply checking the music and manually introducing the track # does nothing.

Also, any non-alphanumeric or non-standard character won't ever be matched. You can check this with many bands. The latest this happened with was Blink-182, but the same result occurred with Lantlôs and K's Choice. The character results in no matches. If I manually search for 'Blink 182', 'Lantlos' or simply 'Choice', it works normally.

Hi,

thank you for posting this issue. I tested with your examples and i found the problem. The search-engine at Discogs.com is the reason, why it doesn't work. I reported it in the Discogs forum, in the hope that it will be done quickly.

Cheers
Sven

Forget the hope, that it will be done quickly... This issue was first reported 6 month ago. :(

Hi. While we're waiting for discogs to fix their search, I do have another small request to make, which shouldn't be too complicated:
One thing that annoys me is leading/trailing spaces on discogs releases. Many times they are correct, but because discogs has an extra space, I then have to go clean the files.
Can you apply a Trim() to titles/albums, please? ;)

hi,
I update a record on Discogs and want to tag my LP with the uodated information. Discogs tagger shows me the non updated version. I thought maybe I just delete my Internet Explorer browser cache but this didnt solve the problem. Any ideas how I can do this?
Thanks in advance
Armin

Hi,
just wanted to point out a bug; if you enter a number from discogs manually AND the tag for Album Artist contains "Various" the "search by release id" don't work.
If I remove "Various" in Album Artist and leave it blank it works

this is for compilations and other CDs that have Various artist on them

Hi, do you have an example for me? I just tested 2 releases with leading spaces, but the script always find it and delete it.

Hi Armin,

first you have to wait, that your browser show the changes at discogs, too. After that, you should see it in discogs tagger.

It just happened with this release: [r9166475]
My tags had no leading spaces but the tagger added them.
