Check your VirtualStore, I think you may be running two completely different versions of "Genre Finder"!

Thanks very much for the fast reply!
i checked, and since i am running win XP (sorry, didnt mention it before) it seems i dont have such a VirtualStorage thing.
Also, the file mentioned (including path) in the error Message is the same that is used when running the script as Administrator (its in ..mediamonkey/scripts/auto/genrefinder.vbs - the standard location.)
After this Message, another error message appears: "Error hapened during script execution:
Object required: 'Confirm' "
so i experimented a bit...
* if i change the users rights to "User" (make it member in that user group), then the same Error messages appear.
* if i change the users rights to "Administrator", then i get in any case "All xxx tracks have been processed, no suggested changes." Thats strange, since i tagged the file with "3498573498" as genre for genrefinder to find the correct genre, which would be Pop as found before.
Interestingly: when "Confirmation" is set to "never", then it finds the correct genre and applies it (same file).
Is there some caching mechanism involved? its strange...
But: its OK, i just dont tag too much files at the same time, then i can correct things if it gets the wrong genre. But since its quite nicely accurate, i am fine with genrefinder
greetings

I updated to the new verison, which seems working quite nice, but there is a little problem. If I'm listening something then its tagging only one track, before updating, this script added tags to all the songs from an artist, that was being played. How to change it back?
//Excuse me for my English

Two likely problems:
- You are using cached values from a prior run. Check option "Clear Cache before every run?" to avoid this problem.
- Either last.fm has no data for the artist or the whitelist you are using could not derive a tag. Check %Temp%\GenreFinder.log for "Unknown".

@avera991 - I'm not sure exactly what you mean, sorry. Can you be more descriptive about what happened and how this differs from what you expected?

What i want is that when i play one Song from an artist(example Nick cave - Ship song) then the same tags as the Ship Song have, will be given to all Nick Cave songs. Settings seems to be the same like before updating

Ah, I see. In the automatic modes the changes are only applied to the track that triggered the script - this is by design.

Hello,
sorry for the long time in between!
aha, i have set the script to run in "Tracks" mode: then i cannot change the checkmark for chached values since it it grayed out.
If i change to run in Artist-mode, the it seems to work correctly.
In the logfile, everything is accordingly to what happens - so there are no error messages or strange things in the log file.
greetings

Tracks mode is the least likely to find last.fm tags. I use Artist mode exclusively.
Best settings of the script

Hello everyone,
I have been watching this post for awhile now. Thanks for this great script, as it helped me a lot as my tags were really screwed up. But I haven't seen my problem mentioned on this forum yet. I also apologize if I seem to have missed this part if it was discussed.
I wanted to split the genre and mood so that mood contain things like smooth, uptempo, etc. I am using owyns whitelist, but is there anyone that has a whitelist similar to his, but is spit where genre is pure genre, and anything else related to song is added into mood? If no one has this, can someone give me a breakdown (talk to me like i am a noob.....well I am actually) on how to actually populate the two. Again, I am just completely lost on how to do this.
Edit: Actually I think it is already doing this. Looking into it more.

The AMG based whitelist is almost "pure genre".

Styles can be derived from the last.fm tags but moods can not, or at least not reliably. I use acoustic profiles via MusicIp to get that information.

Hi,
the script is not working for me anymore. My Broken Social Scene files are all tagged in Genre with Indie Rock. I start the script and nothing changes. Use top results is set to "4".

You don't have a whitelist and have blacklisted "indie"
