To be honest... MM is the most buggiest piece of software I have on my computer. Crash here, hang there. It drives me nuts. It's like being in love with your worst enemy. Together till the end.

Yes, I totally agree that MM4 is very buggy indeed, but it is only in development, so I guess we cannot expect too much yet.
MM3 is very stable for me.

yay! let's all complain about how buggy this BETA software is and not report any of our problems!

Yay. Let's anonymously complain about some comments about how buggy the software is without even bothering to log in.

Since there is mention of a soon release candidate, combined with the fact that lots of people seem to be using last.fm, I would like to make the case that a decent-working last.fm scrobbler should be released before the release of this release candidate.

I use multiple media players myself, and they all seem to scrobble fine as opposed to what was said in a previous post. Therefore, I suspect it really has something to do with the plugin and not with the last.fm service itself.

Loaded up ProcExp after discovering that MediaMonkey is just hogging EVERYTHING.... seems like something really broken is going on here.... not to mention that MediaMonkey is not submitting anything to Last.FM... UGH.

ntoskrnl.exe!KeWaitForMultipleObjects+0xd52
ntoskrnl.exe!KeWaitForSingleObject+0x19f
ntoskrnl.exe!__misaligned_access+0xba4

gen_LastFMScrobbler.dll+0x68e2
ntdll.dll!RtlInitializeExceptionChain+0x63
ntdll.dll!RtlInitializeExceptionChain+0x36

Re-initializing MediaMonkey seemed to remove it from the DLL listing until completing a song first! This also explains why many people report that the first song played by MediaMonkey does not get submitted at all... again, in my case it (the dll) instantly jumps to 100% cpu usage.

I just installed the lastest version of MM and now last.fm doesnt scrobble at all.

I noticed some weird stuff in the log file...

Code: Select all

It did for a split second play the above song but then it didnt work again. Im not sure what the post.audioscrobbler.com stuff is but that seems new.
Hope this helps anyone out in fixing the script.

New versions released today (May 17th)
Same issue- MM4 crashes and doesn't start if installed as all users. The DLL doesn't load if installed as current user.
Windows 7 x64.

1.0.2.25 on 1376 was working well. I both paused MediaMonkey for a long while and in that time played tracks over UPnP (MM as server) and since that tracks no longer get submitted.

Cleanly removed old version and erased settings, tried local install and does not log at all or function at all, at least it's saving stats now. Log file simply does not exist and scrobbling does not function.

Trying global now.

Global install makes log work correctly, no scrobbling, also takes up 100% cpu time after playing through single song... nothing is fixed

Are you sure that you have not Limitations for accessing IE settings and does your IE is in Online Mode?

I tested on Win 7 (x86 and x64) XP using IE6-9 on three PCs and could not replicate your problem.

RE: Global Install It is regression not involving last.fm only and we are working on the solution.
