Used the internal "Find updates" feature which alerted me to the new version. I came here to read up on the new version before installing, but once I did so, I clicked in the Monkey to "Install update." It gave me the notice about having nodes already present, asking if I would like to add the new nodes (6 already in place, asked if I wanted to ask 67 or so new Nodes), clicked yes and next thing I know, an error is thrown.
Code: Select all
Error #-2147418113 -
File: "C:\Program Files\MediaMonkey\Scripts\Auto\MagicNodes.vbs", Line: 2533, Column: 20
Clicking okay, not much has changed. The version still shows as 1.8 in the Extensions window and the Magic Nodes node has disappeared.

Ok:
I thought this would be easier but I am having a little trouble. If I created a node and now I want to go back in to edit it, how do I use the Settings panel for that? I do not have any pre-defined masks installed, I am trying to convert some existing sql into nodes.

You open up the settings and then use the "Caption" dropdown to select the node you want to edit. Make your edits then click Save to save the changes to the node.

Thank you, I missed that!! There is a large learning curve here for me but luckily with the Winter Holiday break coming I will have some free time to try to learn how to use MN. I'm sure I will be back with some more newbie questions.

I forgot to note earlier that despite the error thrown during installation, everything appears fine after restarting the Monkey.

BUG Report
When I remove a Magic Node from the tree the following error message is shown:
Error #424 - Runtime Error
Object needed: 'SDB.Objects(...)'
File: "...MagicNodes.vbs",Line: 9939, Column: 12
The nodes I deleted were:
- Same Title from same Artist
Same Title from different Artist
Version of MediaMonkey is 3.0.6.1190 using german translation.
Nevertheless this script is one of the most useful ones ever written for MediaMonkey.

I was wondering if there was a way to make the nodes "hide" if there is nothing in them. For example, I want a node that show Artists with Multiple Genres. I can make that node (thanks to the ease of the new GUI, and of Magic Nodes in general. But when I have NO artists with multiple genres, I don't want the node to show.
If this is possible and I am just overlooking the ability, I apologize. Thanks for updating a great script to be even better!!

The Edit Magic Node window is cut off at the bottom.
Also. I cannot find a way to create a new Magic Node. Only edit existing ones.
